I'm 6 months and 10 days out and loving life. I hit goal at 5-1/2 months (lost 72 pounds) and I'm staying right at that number +/- 2 pounds. Tuesday, my surgeon had a holiday celebration for former and prospective patients. He asked me to be one of the models and it was SO much fun! Here're the transformation photos that tell the whole story without words

How incredible has this surgery been!

It is encouraging to see others hit goal weight... Can I ask who sets goal weight my Dr. Has never talked final weight with me.. Just keeping with the program...

My doctor asked what I would like to see & where I would feel "comfortable". The high end for my height is 148 but I have been 155 before & looked gaunt so I said I would re-evaluate around 170 (12 more pounds to go). When I was 18 and weighed 155 & wore a size 6 I didn't have extra skin or hips from having a baby like now so things def look different right now.

My doctor set my goal weight to 170 , and that is what I am aiming for the closer I get to my goal i will see if I am comfortable at that weight.

I am glad to see the goal weight isn't off those charts..I know some point in my life I weighted under 180 but I must have been around 13... I am the smallest I ever remember at a size 14 and weighing 205 my goal is 175 and I will be happy... I agree 3 babies and being heavy my whole life... Yea I will be very happy...

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
