jillybean6882 1 Posted December 18, 2014 I had a RNY done 11 years ago. Until March of this year I had no complications. In March I started to experience problems with my bowel movements and developed heartburn. I also started to have problems keeping food down. I started to drop weight again and because some days I can't keep food down I don't know how to keep from losing any more weight. I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this and can give me some advice on what I should be doing and not doing to fix this problem. Thanks in advance for your help
DLCoggin 1,788 Posted December 18, 2014 I have a close friend who is 15 years out and has experienced similar symptoms on two different occasions. Both times turned out to be a bleeding ulcer at the anastomosis. Absolutely treatable but sooner is better than later. If you have not done so already, I would encourage you to see either your surgeon or a gastroenterologist without delay. There are a list of other possible causes but regardless, it's always better to know rather than guess. Please share the results of what you learn so that everyone can benefit from your experience. Looking forward to hearing of your full recovery!!
jillybean6882 1 Posted December 18, 2014 Thank you for your input. I currently don't have health insurance so when I can get the money to go see a gastroenterologist I will let you know what they say. Thank you again for your help
