I need a kick in the butt

Recommended Posts

So I'm over a year out and did really well until a few months back. I had to have my gallbladder out and had a really hard time getting back into the swing of things since then. I haven't been eating well, I've been drinking way too much, and I'm certainly not working out enough. My wieght has been around the same place for MONTHS, I've even gained a bit of the weight back.

I also have to admit that I haven't been on here in a while, it's almost like a source of shame to come on when I'm doing so badly, but know it's what I need more than anything.

Any advise, words of wisdom, or even just anyone in the same boat would be greatly appreciated.

Think about it like your job, you just took a "vacation" and now it is time to go back to work! Everyone hates going back to work after their vacations but you still have to do it! Just remember how much better you feel with your weight off!

I have faith that you will get back in the swing of things!!!

I am a year out next month and I am desparately trying to kick my ass exercising. That is my downfault. I know I can do this but I need to stop drinking too much alcohol for one thing! You can do this. Just recommit, get a fill and get back on the treadmill. One day at a time.

Hi Boston Gurl,

I'm a Worcester Girl. Always happy to meet someone from MA on here!

For of all - Congratulations on your 80 lb weight loss! That is phenominal.

I agree with mkusmile - treat it like you need to go back to work. I bought a really pretty journal and have been logging everything I eat and drink into it. Maybe it you start doing that, you will be able to pick up on some areas that could use improvement and where you need to make changes.

Best of luck to you!

<p>You have hit a wall of sorts...You should catch the program on the TLC channel.....See the really Obese People--450, 550, 700 and 800 pounds near Death. It scared me to death---I was so upset when I watched it....I woke up--rode my bike 5 miles in the AM and then 5 miles in the PM....Call me crazy??? Lately--this hill where I live is no longer scarey...My clothes are no longer tight---The ladies who never say nothing to guys like me--now talk to me. Some have even walked up--"Oh I am Stevies Mom--Or my name is Alice"...Funny thing--all I did was go through the lap band on 3-28-07---Lost only 28 pounds....I was 271 starting...I have not weighed myself in maybe 11 days--since my fill...Now--I am able to ride 4-5 and 8 miles on given days. It's getting to the point--I almost hate coming home after a ride. My energy is through the roof. Think of this....I had a low back fusion, neck fusion--1998...Left Knee replacement--03...another neck surgery for a pinched nerve--04.I even suffer from a torn left shoulder. All of this was done in the Army..all of this could have stopped me...I live in disability from the VA, Post office and SS....why should I work hard??? Right?? Because--I turn 50 on June 21st and I can't wait to look down at the scale and see--163 to 173 lbs.....I am predicting I will see that around Feb or March next year--maybe sooner....If I can work my butt off through out the summer--Don't let the surgery get you down....Think of if you had 7 surgeries like me...

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
