rosallthat973 0 Posted December 17, 2014 I had surgery on March 28. I weighed 280 now I weigh 220. I suppose to be around 190. Its stressing me out. I am constantly weighing myself. What should I do. Any advice!!!
momohime 121 Posted December 17, 2014 Channel all that energy in a different direction. Be proud of the 60 pounds you have lost and continue to move forward! Stressing over what could have been doesn't get you anywhere. Instead of constantly weighing yourself, try to get in the habit of logging your food and exercise. Keep an honest account of what you're doing daily and try to find a way to stay on the downward slope, even if there are a few bumps along the way.
joatsaint 2,814 Posted December 17, 2014 When I would get frustrated or worried about "how little" I was losing, I'd remind myself of the pre-surgery days. Pre-surgery I would have been ecstatic if I could lose weight at any speed. Back then, it would have been a wish come true if I was only losing 1/2 lb a month - just as long as the scale was going down on a consistent basis.
LipstickLady 25,682 Posted December 17, 2014 What are you eating? Do you track? Exercise?
Buttercupbrown 70 Posted December 17, 2014 Throw out the Scale! I weigh once a month or you can do twice a month but the scale will DEPRESS You! Are you working out? Push up your routine.
Elode 8,093 Posted December 17, 2014 You should stop constantly weighing yourself! That will help eliminate some of that stress! Just follow your plan and let your body do its job. Our bodies aren't on the same "weight loss schedule" that we want them to be on all the time. You are doing very good and you will get there in your own sweet time. Don't stress! Cody's mom 247 Posted December 17, 2014 Be happy you're losing and not gaining. Weigh yourself once a week and stop obsessing, you've lost 60 pounds, what is there to complain about?

OKCPirate 5,323 Posted December 18, 2014 Get a MyoTape - and measure yourself. Much better indicator of fat loss than scale. Write down the measurements. Track food (and Water) on www.myfitnesspal.com - I keep track of only calories, carbs and Protein. Its free and easy. It is easy to "think" you are eating the right stuff and you are really grazing unless you hold yourself accountable. And then track your exercise. Make sure you are pushing yourself a little. You need a little stress to keep you moving in the right direction. If you don't you will stay where you are. Then be thankful. Your body obviously wanted to slow down the weight loss. Now you want it to start again. So you had some time to catch up, recuperate, now get started again. Obey your signals to change.
