Who the heck is Rachael Ray? And who the heck is that girl for that matter? I hate random people photos..imagine that person walking through a shopping center then all of the sudden they see their face in a fake photo of a picture frame for sale. freakish. :rolleyes

Who the heck is Rachael Ray?

Rachel Ray is the first white woman to cross the Sahara Dessert on an all terrain vehicle. She organized small choral singing groups every 100 kilometers or so, writing four-part harmony arrangements of the local folk songs. She often survived on camel milk when there was no food or Water, and is best known today for making a tart but sweet camel milk cheese that is used in salad dressings across Africa.

WHAT? Is that real?

There's another famous rachel rae? rachael ray? (not the one with the cooking show and talk show who posed in a bra in FHM?

No, unfortunately it's not real. I just had a little too much free time yesterday. I might explain by saying that I grew up in California in the '60s and '70s, and I still have the occassional hallucination.

:hippie: :faint: :P  :heh: :hippie:

Mark, thats too funny, making people laugh is a good use of your time, IMO.

As for the girl, I thought I was the only one who thought she looked like Rachael Ray.

I thought she looked like this actress, Megan Gallagher, that I have seen in several small tv roles, including Picket Fences, and more recently on 7th Heaven as Rose's mom. Now that you mention it, she does look a little like Rachel Ray.

I would also like to know if she has been banded. I'd be kinda ticked if she was just some "never been fat" model!

Rachel Ray has been banded. She weaved her own lap band from the ligaments and small intestine of the pygmy camel indigenous to the Sahara dessert. She made the port from sun dried camel lips, and she created the only known "dry fill" system for lap bands, using a particularly fine grain of sand found only along the border between Libya and Algeria.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
