ShellyBellyIowa 78 Posted December 16, 2014 And it seems like I can drink more than 12 ounces. Isn't my stomach smaller than that???
HalloweenBaby24 447 Posted December 16, 2014 Thats normal, liquids run through your tiny tummy quicker now.
ShellyBellyIowa 78 Posted December 16, 2014 I was getting worried that it meant I wouldn't have much restriction;(
joatsaint 2,814 Posted December 16, 2014 Different things cause different amounts of restriction. Regular Water fills me quickly, Crystal Light doesn't seem filling. I can eat almost a pound of yellow squash, but I can eat 4 oz of hamburger and I feel stuffed. Everyone's different.
Luvin_Life125 558 Posted December 16, 2014 You would not believe how fast liquid can pass through your sleeve! I had an upper GI because of heartburn 2 weeks post op and I got to watch as I swallowed the barium. I could barely make out how small my new stomach is because the liquid barium flowed through so fast, if you blinked you missed my tiny tummy. You could see my intestines really well though the radiologist was making me drink more and more barium so he could try and catch a look at all of my tummy. He started laughing after a bit and we determined my new tummy must be camera shy. Moral of the story is liquids can really flow through your stomach extremely quickly. You may not feel any restriction until you eat solids which stay in there a bit longer.
ShellyBellyIowa 78 Posted December 16, 2014 Thanks! I will be patient and wait a few weeks to see how solids do;)
