Has anyone had their inner thighs done?

Recommended Posts

I've still got a couple of years to go, but I'm already thinking ahead about PS. My inner thighs are a mess from decades of rubbing together. The skin is darker and the there are spots where I had friction sores. I'm curious to know how other people have dealt with this problem.

My thighs have always rubbed together, even when I was at a "normal" weight so I don't expect much improvement when I reach goal. It's seems like there's nothing I can do to improve the texture of the skin. What I'd really like to do is get an inner thigh lift or Lipo or whatever it would take to live in a world where my thighs don't touch - or at least don't overlap.

Has anyone had this done? What was the procedure/recovery/scarring like?

Thanks!

Hey,

I looked right into it when I got my TT and I could not find one person that could say they were/are happy with the results. My friend went ahead and got it done with her TT and she is not happy at all either. The scars tend to migrate down, there is a high rate for revisions afterwards, its a lot of pain and healing and the cuts like to pull open because they are in such an awkward spot.

In my opinion, from what I have seen and who I have spoken with...it just isnt worth it.

My thighs are horrid, I mean reallyyyyy bad but I wont risk going through it.

I am planning to have the extra skin removed my my inner thighs and arms in late August. The lady who told me about my plastic surgery office has had great results. Perhaps it has something to do with the order of surgeries. I had my TT and Breast Lift with skin removal in Late February. I am healing well and back to working out so I can recover faster from the next surgery.

Everybody is different and so is every doctor. I think everyone should do research and not jump into things. That's what I did and I think I still could have learned more to be more prepared.

I have so much sagging, rubbing skin on my inner thighs that I think it looks worse since I lost weight. Sounds strange but when i was bigger the skin was tight. Now it hangs and I gotta tell you, I don't even want to see it when I shower! I think the skin removal is a no brainer for me. I don't want to feel half done. I lost this weight and I want to get the full benifits. Does that make sense?

I haven't been banded yet but I need this surgery already. I have also heard that it scars alot and can be quite painfull. When the time comes I will research it carefully and talk to PS and hopefully make the right decision.

Wouldn't a lower body lift help this.. or am I wrong in thinking it would?

Yes, it will help a little bit, but if your thighs are really bad, the lower body lift won't be enough.

I had my inner thighs operated on in October of 2005. It is a painfull surgery and the scars are not all that attractive, but the results in rewarding. I have had a breast reduction, liposuction, Tummy Tuck and the inner thighs. The thighs were the most difficult. Would I do it again? Yes

At least in my clothes I look soooo much better and my legs do not rub together like they did. They have always rubbed, even as a teenager ( and I was not heavy), but after so much weight gain they were painful. Much better now.:whoo:

I had Lipo done on my inner thighs last week. A lot of bruising and going to the bathroom (sitting on toilet) is tricky and can be painful. Gets better and better every day. I am happy with the results thus far and I am still a bit swollen still. I didn't have a scar but had the stab wound on each thigh for the fat to get taken out. it is about the size of a small milk straw and took 1 stitch. It won't even show once I am healed I am sure.

However, lipo is not for extra skin, so if that is what you are talking about, then the thigh lift leaves a big ol scar.

iluvamc - do you mind saying how much the surgery cost for your thighs and where you had it done? I'm in the Kansas Area and the one doc I went to was quoting around 7.5K just for the thighs.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
