I feel like I am getting worse, I was banded on thurs and felt sore, now I am having trouble getting things down and I feel very lightheaded. Did anyone else feel dizzy?

If you're not getting in enough calories, Protein, and staying hydrated, you need to call your surgeon. Try sipping constantly throughout the day rather than sticking to a meal time. I hope you feel better soon but give the surgeon a call.

Hey laurie, part of the diziness could be because you're dropping weight so fast. I don't know if you've gotten on the scale, but in the past, when I've been on a high Protein diet, I tend to get very tired and lightheaded. But, check with with your doc about that and not being able to get food down.

I was banded Wednesday. I had really bad dizziness over the weekend (when I didn't have much Thur or Friday)... Today I feel better.. but still get a little dizzy after standing for too long. I'm pretty sure I'm dehydrated. Tonight I'm Freezing a few spring Water bottles... I'll drink them as they defrost, hopefully that will keep me hydrated.

It will get better :-)

Thanks! It helps knowing that other people are having the same stuff happen to them. I feel like such a baby because I'v been complaining all day. O know that I am dehydrated because I can't drink anything without feelong like I am going to throw up.

Try drinking something hot or warm. Bigelow makes a Decaf French vanilla tea.. It's very yummy!!! Best wishes.

PS- Or try drinking something very cold. Freeze a bottle of Water, or crystal light... honestly, even a hawaiin punch or something.. drink it as it defrosts.

Try some sugar free popsicles or ice pops. They were a life saver for me when I had trouble keeping anything down. Also besides being dehydrated or low blood sugar, you could have low potassium. Is it also possible you were around someone with the stomach flu? If you arent feeling better I would see your surgeon ASAP. Better safe than sorry. Best of luck!

You are not getting enough of prob everything. (drink more Water, eat small Snacks - yoour bady takes time to adjust - i still get dizzy at times if I get hungry and don't get something to eat soon - i have learned to keep a snack handy in case I feel light headed or dizzy).

I had the dizziness as well, I found that once I increased calories by starting on full fluids, I was fine. Just don't get up too quickly!

Feel better soon.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
