Shari71 85 Posted December 14, 2014 CAN WE EAT pudding AT 4 DAYS POST OP? (SILLY QUESTION. BUT I'D RATHER BE SAFE THAN SORRY)
BLERDgirl 6,417 Posted December 14, 2014 Depends on your doctor's protocol. If your doctor has you on full liquids then yes.
Miss Mac 6,262 Posted December 14, 2014 Just not pistaccio because of the bits.
Elode 8,093 Posted December 14, 2014 I did with unflavored Protein mixed in, but as always consult your DR and see if it's allowed.
Bufflehead 6,358 Posted December 14, 2014 Check with your surgeon. My surgeon did not allow it but I know some do.
Luvin_Life125 558 Posted December 14, 2014 According to my surgeon pudding is part of the full liquid diet. I would double check your surgeons protocol.
Shari71 85 Posted December 14, 2014 (edited) Thanks girls! Yes I'm on Stage 1 All liquid diet. But I don't see anything bedsides Jello and popsicles. But it says: If you have reached your 480z. (Which I have). Then you can move to Almond milk, 1% milk, Kefir drinkable yogurt or blenderized low fat soups(chicken noodle/puréed). Yes. I'll call my surgeons office 2morrow morning for sure regarding the pudding.< /p> Edited December 14, 2014 by Shari71
Shari71 85 Posted December 14, 2014 (edited) 1 MORE QUESTION LADIES. Did you worry about how much Protein intake you were getting in week 1. Or did you concentrate on just getting in your Water intake? Stage 2 is liquids and Puréed solids. Which starts this Thurs. Has normal protein intake. Can't wait to eat oatmeal. Even if it's only 1 tablespoon. Writing that sounds funny. Guess it's the small portions of real food that get us excited right??? ???????? Did you worry about how much Protein intake you were getting in week 1. I just focused on getting in Water and protein. I don't think I hit either goal week 1. I didn't hit them until week 2. Elode 8,093 Posted December 14, 2014 @@Shari71 Nope! I just did what I could. I wasn't about to push it. By week two/three I was getting in the Protein, 6 weeks later it's still hard to get all that Water in but I do my best. Between my Decaf tea, Protein Shakes , and bottled water all combined I get it but not by just Plain water. Water takes me forever!
BLERDgirl 6,417 Posted December 14, 2014 Exactly! I drink probably 40/50 ounces straight Water, the rest is tea, ice and water mixed in my Protein Shakes.< /p>
Kindle 8,667 Posted December 14, 2014 I concentrated on getting 64oz liquids first, but since almost everything I drank contained Protein, I was hitting both liquid and protein goals (60+g) by 5 days out. The funny thing is it got harder to meet liquid goals once I was in pureed and soft food stages because just a couple tablespoons would make me full for hours and it was hard to drink. I had to make sure I had most of my fluids in before I ever ate, usually sometime in the middle of the afternoon.
Shari71 85 Posted December 14, 2014 You ladies are truly informative! Thanks again ????
Forsythia 882 Posted December 15, 2014 You know, you can get Protein pudding from GNC. Kill two birds with one stone. Don't worry about getting in all your protein in the first couple weeks. It's just difficult. It took all my mental energy to just eat anything because I had zero hunger those first few weeks.
