I'm having trouble posting my topic so if it's entered twice you'll know why! I'm 6 weeks post op and was able to eat a whole taco including the shell. No upsets. I would think that would be too much food. Comments?

Just because you can doesn't mean you should! It's good that you can eat ok so be happy about that! Just make the smartest choices!

I think the sleeve is an awesome tool, but it's still just one part of a plan everyone must follow to be at a healthy weight. Sleeved or unsleeved healthy folks do three things, they eat healthy foods, they exercise and they enjoy both!! Taco is in itself not horrible but is it on your plan? Maybe a once in awhile treat?! Find its proper place and move forward, for me this is about changing old bad habits and making new ones. I already exercised before being sleeved so my eating patterns and how much I ate is my issue. I really try to stick to the program, Protein and veggies and a little healthy grains and if I do that my sleeve does its job!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
