Do you count vitamin calories?

Recommended Posts

My team said just to focus on Protein and Water but I'm not loosing. I think maybe I'm not eating enough. I eat 800 calories a day but myfitnes pal says to eat 1000 because of my metabolism.

Anyway I noticed that another person has been counting the calories in her Vitamins, I haven't, do you?

I think 800-1000 is too high for someone with a 5 oz stomach. My Fitness Pal is not set up for someone who had gastric by pass surgery. It is for the average person trying to lose weight. The purpose of the surgery is so you will eat less calories causing weight loss.

Do NOT count calories in your Vitamins. THat is just crazy. I've heard some people do that but it is not what you need to do. In fact, my NUT says to not count calories, count grams of Protein, carbs, fats (when you are allowed the last 2). Counting protein is so much easier and less stressful than counting calories.

I am three weeks out and I am lucky if I consume 300 calories per day. I feel satisfied with 200-300 calories. I don't count my Vitamins either. It's amazing how different I feel about food now. It's like night and day! I had a stall during week two and didn't lose anything for 6 days. So far I have lost 27 pounds. :)

You don't need to count your Vitamins. I don't think it's wrong to eat 1000 calls if your getting your workouts in.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
