I was banded yesterday. I am still in the hospital but I am going home today. My stomach is sore. Mostly around my port. Pain in my back and shoulder from the gas they filled me with. I ate a Popsicle and just a little bit of broth. I don't know why but it made me so full. I don't know yet how many cc's my band has in it yet. But I was told my liver was normal size so he had no issues getting to my stomach. So happy to be able to post an update in post-op. Y'all have a blessed day:)

Congratulations and welcome to the other side ! You are probably swollen around the stomach so that may be why you're filled up on a popsicle and broth. Hope all continues to go well, good luck !!!

I got home from the hospital yesterday afternoon. Moving around (especially getting in and out of bed) was really painful yesterday but today is a lot better, even getting better by the hour. I feel like I will be ready to go back to work Monday (I am self employed and work from home).

I am already bored with this week's diet, but I have my eyes on the horizon!

Congratulations! For me the walking helped so much with everything -- a little further each time you're up and around!

The first few days I was a little wobbly, after the first week I was off and running !! Good luck to all of you ! You got this !!!

Thanks Pink! I am day 5 post surgery now, still on painkillers for a bit of soreness AND serious hunger pains! I really feel like I am starving, but it is not as uncomfortable as it sounds. I am counting the days until I can ditch this liquid diet.

Of course the scale is going down but I am not going to get excited until I get back on real food and still see the pounds drop.

Is it a problem that I haven't pooped yet?

I haven't took anymore pain meds since yesterday. Most of the soreness I feel is in my port site. I've been really light headed today though. Almost like a shaky feeling on the inside. I don't know but I did lay down and it seemed to help. I don't ever really feel as though I am starving but I do get hungry. It takes so little to fill me up. As far as I know, my band is empty. The restriction I feel IS probably from swelling. I don't want to weigh until I go back to the Doc on the 23rd. Hope all is well with everyone. Y'all have a good night! :)

Congratulations!!! My first weeks were difficult, mainly because of the fat person that was living in my head! The surgery gave me a tool, but I still had to work on me. :). So exciting this new phase of your life!!! Keep up the great work, and remember..... It's worth it!!! ????

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
