alyssa9409 5 Posted December 13, 2014 Hello. My name is alyssa.i am 23 years old, turning 24 next week. I am new to this app. I recently had my gastric sleeve procedure done on December 3rd 2014, so I am a little over a week out. I haven't always struggled with my weight. things seemed to go downhill right after high school. In 2009, my senior year in high school, I weighed 150 pounds. Even then I never felt good about myself. I've always had a problem with this. my heaviest weight was 265 pounds. This is the weight I started my bariatric surgery program at back in April. I work in a bariatric department and what motivated me to decide this life change were the patients. I love being able to move through their journey with them and see all the amazing changes they go through. at my 1 week follow up I weighed in at 231 pounds. I have lost this weight so far by doing a 3 week preop diet and being out of surgery for a week. I know this is just the beginning and can't wait to see the changes ahead. Miss Mac 6,262 Posted December 13, 2014 That is awesome that the bariatric practice that you work in will have someone who understands what this experience is all about. My original nutritionist was a PYT (pretty young thing) who looked like she weighed 98 pounds soaking wet. I am all for people on our teams being healthy, but I just felt like she did not really understand the angst involved in this process. I do hope that your recovery continues to go well.
