DivaSue 23 Posted December 12, 2014 Hey all. I'm day 10 post op. My port sites were stitched then covered with steri strips. They told me that they'd start to fall off at 7-10 days. They are all still there and really itchy. Any advice?
Maggy'sMom 42 Posted December 12, 2014 (edited) It took mine quite awhile too call off. the last one came off at 4 weeks. I washed with soap and Water and after the edges came loose I trimmed the loose edges. The worst part was the sticky glue under the strip. it was all black and and really hard to scrub off. I didn't want to scrub to hard and hurt the incision so I started using Bio Oil. When itchy, I would lightly smooth the strip with my finger. AvaFern 3,516 Posted December 12, 2014 If you want to take them off now, you can. 10 days is enough time. It helps if you do it right after a shower or if you take a washcloth run under fairly hot Water and then dab it over the strips. It makes it easier to pull off. Also, Maggy's Mom had a good point about the black goo. I found that baby oil on a soft cloth works to get it off. Good luck with your new sleeve!

DivaSue 23 Posted December 14, 2014 They're off along with the nasty band aid dirt. Thanks! They came off really easy after a shower. Scars don't look bad a all! Thanks for the advice!
