Hey Sleeve Weavers! Feb 2015!

Recommended Posts

@@tiger1961 , when are you doing your bowel prep (taking the laxative)? You are scheduled for Monday, right? Just wondering. I have to fly to Mexico on the 3rd for my surgery on the 4th and do not want to be having diarrhea on the plane. Sorry about the TMI, but just getting a bit anxious about that part.

@@mdlange,

I am flying out Southwest of Dallas on the 5th early in the am, and the surgery is scheduled for the same day. Yes, my husband and I are staying at the Marriott. My Dr is Jose Luis Curiel. He is newly partnered with Dr. Elias Ortiz. I'm not sure which hospital I'll be in actually. My name is Carla Martin, look me up there.

@@signexp , I fly out of Houston early on the 3rd (we live in Galveston), surgery first thing Wednesday morning! My husband is Michael Lange and I am Denise. At Vida, they don't let the guys stay overnight, so Michael will be by himself at the Marriott. It will be nice to hook up with some Texas peeps!

I am having my sleeve done on 2/18/15. I am so excited! And nervous! I am currently at my highest weight of 230 at 5'3.5''. I am doing self pay in Mexico. Some friends of mine had it done there with rave reviews of the facility and medical providers. Just booked my flight into San Diego yesterday! YAY!

I am a 29 year old female, married, mom of 2 minions (boy-4, girl-2) and I am a foster mom. I work full time as a newborn nursery/pediatric RN.

I will be getting mine on 2/17!!!! Who is doing yours??!!!! I just got scheduled like 3 days ago when I decided to do it NOW!!!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
