jesshero 15 Posted December 11, 2014 I started this journey in April of 2014 ... and now, after fighting with my insurance company since September, finally getting approved and anticipating a January surgery date ... I received a call last night .... There was a cancelation ... I am booked for December 18th! I couldn't be more pleased, but yikes! I haven't even started holiday shopping. Any advice out there for a last minute last week pre-op?
michellebutrick 9 Posted December 11, 2014 You are one day after mine, go out and buy you Vitamins and get you holiday to do list done this weekend, wrapping presents while you recoup is a great time passer when you wont feel so hot. Get a food diary and set it up and get excited about your rebirthday.

heynowkc 329 Posted December 11, 2014 @@jesshero I thought I was "cutting it close" by getting my date (Dec 17th) exactly 2 weeks before surgery. But one week? Wow, you must be elated! I'm right before you. So excited. I have no advice other than follow your doctor's instructions exactly! Are you doing a pre-op diet?
jesshero 15 Posted December 11, 2014 Yes. My two week liquid diet was cut to a one week liquid diet ... it was a "start tomorrow" phone call. It's a good thing I have been waiting since October and am STOCKED with Protein Drinks. I am elated ... but still in shock. ????
heynowkc 329 Posted December 12, 2014 (edited) @@jesshero I was the same way. My head was spinning for at least 24 hours after getting the news. I had a bunch of pre-op appointments I had to organize with my work schedule at that point but I'm all done now! Visit with the doc/nutritionist & picking up my pre-op diet products last Thurs. Had my nutrition class on Monday. Had my final visit with the surgeon and the dietitian today where I picked up my post-surgery Vitamins, and this morning I also had a pre-surgery phone interview with my nurse from the hospital, and now I just have to wait for surgery day. Totally stoked! Good luck to you! Edited December 12, 2014 by heynowkc
