Went out shopping and came back with a super full feeling

Recommended Posts

I'm 7 days post op

I went to the grocery store and then TJ Max. I was out for only an hour and a half.

I came back with such a full feeling I thought I was gonna explode.

I didn't eat anything, the last thing I ate was hours before ( Protein pudding I had been working on all day)

I was just wondering if being out that long and walking around like that made my stomach produce more Gas?

It felt like I ate a horse lol

It went away after3 hours or so, and made its way out, but dang that hurt

you are still having the anethesia wear off, etc from being in the hospital if you are only 7 days post op...so that will happen on occasion as your body adjusts... the walking should have helped... if it lasts for a long time, and you get no relief, talk to your doctor, they may prescribe something like gas-x or prilosec to get you through.

Congrats!

chewable Gas-X was my constant companion for a couple weeks post-op. It helps a lot!

It could just be your stomach swelling Especially in the healing stage it can get aggravated and swell at times.

The best advice I got from this forum and my doctor was walk walk walk. I went way out of my way and started quick and got back up to 12 miles a day. Now its cold so I'm not as active.

It's really cold lately here (NH)

Today was great 37 and no wind so I took advantage of that.

But my PT told me at the hospital not to walk in 32 degree or under weather. I can't remember why I was half out of it lol

But I've been trying to keep up

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
