VSGAnn2014 12,992 Posted December 27, 2014 LOL! I love yoga. But I'm terrible at it. And I still love it. I'm much better at power lifting. But I love yoga more.
ProjectMe 909 Posted December 27, 2014 @vsgann2014. I truly miss yoga, but I'm only a week 1/2 out. How soon were you able to start yoga again?
VSGAnn2014 12,992 Posted December 27, 2014 I'm almost 19 weeks post-op, and I just started again. Going back VERY slowly, doing beginner and modified postures -- not that I've ever been any kind of a yoga pro! Heck, just being able to get down and up off the floor again these days is a monster win for me! For me, there's something so wonderfully affirming about the postures, even the baby ones. When I'm doing them I don't judge myself or my abilities. I stretch as best I can without hurting myself. I know that over time my postures will become more correct. In the meantime, I'm doing something that's good for me. I had the idea today (while walking outside) that living is ALL about starting over. Over and over. It's really quite wonderful that we're all so imperfect and yet so full of hope.
ProjectMe 909 Posted December 27, 2014 Don't you love it when connections like the one you experienced , are made? Thank you for sharing that with me. I can't begin to describe how connected and peaceful I feel when doing yoga or hiking/taking a nature walk. It is a beautiful feeling that I wish everyone could experience. JustWatchMe 7,117 Posted December 27, 2014 What I liked about my two free sessions was the peacefulness and do-able-ness of the poses. I couldn't do them the way the others did, but I could do a variation. It slowed me down and connected me to my body. I'd like to find an affordable way to keep it up. Can't afford that place!! Shells_Almost_There 357 Posted January 2, 2015 (edited) I've never been a fan of yoga so I haven't given it much of a shot in the past. On the spur of the moment the other day I bought a yoga workout DVD - I'm hoping to get into it. Although I've lost weight and have gained strength from my regular workouts, I still don't feel like I have a lot of core strength. I'm hoping this will help!
