onmywaytoonederland 236 Posted December 10, 2014 Does anyone else feel like their new tummy is fused to their abdominal wall. I mean, all of my other organs move freely and I don't feel them, but my stomach feels like it is glued to the wall of my abdomen. When I try to sleep on my side I am propping it up with a pillow but I still feel a tugging. What is that all about? Am I alone in this or maybe someone else feels it too? Elode 8,093 Posted December 10, 2014 Hummm nope never felt that? That does sound like a "weird" feeling though.
AvaFern 3,516 Posted December 10, 2014 (edited) I don't remember feeling that, but could it possibly be tension from your incisions? Laparoscopic tools went through all of the layers of your trunk region and there are incisions both inside of your abdominal area and on the outside. The tension that exists until the incisions heal could be what makes you feel like that. Your stomach doesn't have the same type of nerve sensors as do some of the internal layers of your skin and abdominal muscles, so it's more likely you feel something that is in sort of the same place as your stomach, but the sensory feeling is coming from the layers above your stomach, if that makes sense. Also, did you have a hiatal hernia fixed? That may also contribute to the feeling. Edited December 10, 2014 by AvaFern
onmywaytoonederland 236 Posted December 10, 2014 I did have a hiatal hernia repaired. It could very well be referred pain from that. It is such a strange tugging pain when I lay on my left side or even if I stretch my back. Thanks for your suggestions, you two. I appreciate you taking the time.
