I can better write and talk about my surgery now, sorry Yesterday I try to talk and aloud the phone to type for me. I went and had the sleeve it went very well and yes I had pain meds to fight the pain. I was up and down all night I went into a time of just throwing up but today I feel so much better and I was told that If I feel better that I could also shower this evening. I just thank God that I made it through and now I am on the road the road to recovery. I am glad that everyone had laugh at my first writing I am sorry about that. Keep the faith.

@angeleil60 please whatever you do don't apologize for your original post. I haven't had a laugh that good in ages, and as it's been said: laughter is the best medicine! Glad to hear you're feeling better!

Angewil60 ... what pain meds were you on? Cause next I see doc for back pain or Migraine, I want to request them.

I hope you recover well from this. And know we all support you, even though you gave us a good chuckle. I am so glad I didn't post anything after my surgery ... course I would be busting all kinds of stitches/staples back when I had my surgery.

I hope you recovery goes well.

I had a FaceTime conversation with my sister when I woke up from surgery. She said she almost peed her pants. I remember face timing, but not the actual conversation. Sure wish she'd recorded it as I'm sure it was similar to the OP. ????

Glad your surgery went well!

That was hilarious! That's probably why people are warned to not text when they drink. Thanks for the chuckle and so glad you are "done" and doing well!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
