Hi Everyone,

So I'm 3 weeks post op tomorrow and for the past 6 days I haven't shed even half a pound.

Before everyone chimes in let me give you the info

1) Yes, I know the 3 week stall is perfectly normal and everyone goes through it.

2) Yes, I know you shouldn't weigh yourself every day and I'm not. I'm talking about a span of 6 days here.

3) Yes, I'm wearing the same thing every time I weigh myself.

All that being said, I would like to hear from others about how long your stalls lasted. I thought it would only be 3-4 days but no luck. Am I looking at closer to two weeks or should the scale be moving any day now? I'd like to get an idea so I know when I should start worrying that it may not be the normal 3 weeks stall, but possibly something I'm doing wrong. I'm still struggling to get all my fluids in a day. I get them, but it's a struggle. And I'm getting about 40 g of protien and I can eat about 1/3 of food at a time.

Thanks for any input!

Mine started around the 2 week mark as well and it lasted for 3 weeks. Very frustrating! But since then I've lost steadily each week. I hope I don't hit another stall for a long time.

Hang in there, it really stinks to go through this. I thought I was going to lose my mind.

WOW THREE WEEKS!!! I might die of f frustration if it last that long. I'm not surprised mine started around 2 weeks, cause I dropped 30 pounds since 5 days preop when i started my liquid diet. I just hope that doesn't mean my stall is going to longer to let everything catch up.

Congrats on your steady loss! Hope I can say the same soon.

Mine lasted about 2 weeks. I told my myself before surgery that I knew I would fluctuate dailt as long as it wasn't more than 5lbs I would be just fine. Best advice I've ever given myself lol.

Mine lasted almost a month, but I had lost quite a bit on the way to surgery, so it didn't phase me too much. I wasn't delighted, but it eventually started coming off again.

Sometimes, your body slows down if it's not getting enough Protein and/or fluids.

Ok so I should definitely wait at least a couple weeks apparently before I start changing anything to try to get the scale moving. Depressing but it's only a bump in the road. I can already tell a major difference in the way I feel after losing the 30 immediately following surgery. I just can't wait to see what it feels like with the rest of my weight off.

I'm 3 weeks post op and down 40 lbs, and my stall started four days ago. Still not moving this morning. I've also had two days (not in a row) where I was up like 5 lbs or something crazy and then two days later I'd be back down. Trying not to let it phase me! The last 3 days I have done horribly with liquids and Protein (I usually do great but I just went back to work and it's a bit harder!) so I think that probably has something to do with the stall, too ???? good luck everyone!!!

I'm down 45 pounds since being sleeved October 10, but I'm at a stall that is now into it's 3rd week. When I weigh (first thing in the morning), I could be up a pound or down a few ounces but overall, I'm holding steady. I've been increasing my walking since I haven't been cleared (YET!) to go to the gym.

I lost 22 lbs through the first two weeks post, then stalled at 240 for about 2 and a half weeks. Just started dropping again.

Three weeks. I kept track of my inches lost, during my stall so that I wasn't being tortured by the scale not moving.

I had one at 8 weeks that lasted about a week, and then not again for 12 months. I just kept shrinking.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
