Talaria 50 Posted April 19, 2016 Operating time for me was about 45 minutes. I was stable under anesthesia, have had no prior abdominal surgeries so no scar tissue to maneuver through, and carry most of my weight in my butt, hips and thighs--so of my 245 lbs starting, my abdomen was not the fattiest part of me. That said, they didn't come to get my husband for about three hours or so. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
jaxmom 644 Posted April 22, 2016 Mine took a little longer than he anticipated because I had a ton of scar tissue from my band that was being removed. I think 2 hours total. I was so excited and relieved when I woke up enough to discover that my doctor HAD been able to do the conversation even with so much scar tissue. As a result, however I have a VERY small pouch. I'm not going to complain though, this is what I have been dreaming about! Anyone else sleeved in Jacksonville Florida this April?
SilentBotts 138 Posted May 4, 2016 Surgery for me was about an hour and a half. My surgeon had me on a pre op diet primarily to shrink my liver to make the surgery easier. I did well enough with that and my liver shrank so much he was able to do the surgery without needing to move it. So that was one less incision. I ended up being in observation for about six hours because they didn't have my room ready in recovery. I didn't end up getting out of bed to take my first walk on day one until about midnight, and had to get up again at around 4 am for vitals and to walk again.
