Has anyone taken up Bycyling?

Looks like we all to busy to get online and to write or chat about things. I have been to busy to ride but will say that I have been doing maybe 5 miles a day in walking the last month at the New Indy Airport. Been putting in about 12-17 hours a day. We open up on Tuesday Afternoon with filghts coming in after 8 P.M. and everyone flys out on Wednesday. Not sure about the next place but will not be as big in size and scope. We had 1.3 million sq ft. Site was a mile wide and 2 miles long. Hope everyone is doing well. Go to the doctor in a week and hope to get another fill the week of Thanksgiving will post updates at that time.

Chris

Hi Chris...WOW...cant believe it is time for the airport to open. Seems like yesterday when you first started talking about it and now it is here.

I chose to drive this time on my travels, but my husband flew out 2 weeks ago and he said it is really going to be nice...GOOD WORK.

I had been posting on here, but everyone has disappeared and so I chose to not post anymore until someone else did..Did not want to monopolize the thread you know:)

I am actually planning a ride tomorrow afternoon. Hope it warms up some or at least is not including wind...HA

Well...Good Luck Tuesday hope it goes off without a glitch as I am sure it will....

Take care

Traci

Hi all! Thanks, Traci, for your note, gave me the energy to MAKE time to sign on!

Working hard just to keep my head above Water this fall. Haven't been on the bike in about 2 weeks. Arrggghhh! I have been walking, about 4-5 miles 5 times per week. Helps with stress management, but it's not biking. :(

I usually am the one reminding people not to wish their life away...but...I can hardly wait till May when I can finish with this double duty of work and school! Yippee!!

Keep on ridin' Mary K.

nice to see you strangers on here.....and that is a awesome trail(street)

I have been reading allot of cities are gearing towards making the towns more biker friendly. Evansville, which is a pretty large city is adding bike lanes from the West to East side. I am excited and hope to ride down there sometime when I visit my mother.

Rainnnnnnn here this weekend....so I am working on Sat and hoping to ride on sunday...

Have a great weekend everyone....

Carol,

I don't post in that forum. But I'm a member of Consider Biking. The group is pretty amazing

Stacy,

Yeah it is sweet baby and you know it rolls by The Ohio State University.

Traci,

You're a rock star riding in November. Go on with your bad self.

You were bitten by the cycling bug harder than I ever was. Keep us posted.

yes, Julie, I do seem to have this itch that just wont go away when it comes to riding. I love to keep pushing new things and am excited to be doing some new things during the winter to get me ready for my 2009 goals.

If it would JUST QUIT RAINING...LOL

hey chris

how did the opening go for you last week>

It sure has gotten a little colder now that the nasty rain stopped. we are seeing snowflakes today too....:)

Got a nice 25.6 mile ride in on Sunday. Temps reached 42 and it would of been even better if we would not of had all the wind.

Hope everyone is having a great week

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
