Hello, all, classes started today and I am up for a crap load of studying. I have class from 8:30 to noon MWF and then externship from 1-5 MWF and 8-5 T TH...so......no computer time for me at all during the day....bummer.....my DH is sooooooooo NOT happy that he has to pay the university for me to go out and work and not get paid. I just laugh at him, because I know we are paying for my training.

BG,

Going to the gym is an awesome NSV!!! I hate the gym and I envy people who push past the unneccesary self loathing to go there and be with all those people. You are a huge star in my book!!!!!!

Next time you go to the grocery store, pick up a 40 pound bag of dog food. Then figure out how many of those bags used to be on your body and see if you don't fall over with shock.

I don't know how I used to move. DH says, I did very little moving before banding. I guess that explains it then.

OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, I commuted to school today. It was 7 am and the traffic was not too bad, but the wind was blowing really hard and my backpack was stuffed full, and I was a sweating like a hog when I got there. Got to think of a way not to sweat and it will be ok!!

D- Good job on biking to school!! I wish I was close enough to somewhere that I had to go to be able to bike to it.. My job is a good 40 minute drive...so I can't imagine biking that..I already wake up at 430 am to get there I would have to wake up at 2 am if I biked there!

Keep up the good work!

D good job on the commute. I have been slacking on that lately, but it is really ahrd to leave at 3am to get to work lol.

As for the gym, DH gets all credit for that one. Had I been home alone I would have never done it. He basically carried me out the door. But once I got going it was not so bad. I even ran some intervals after lifting and we all know how much I loathe running. I did reward myself by showering and putting on my pajamas when I got home from the gym...at 3pm lol.

The eating is getting better. I have been chewing a little more and not pbing nearly as much. I also tried the spinach dip chicken salad recipe on the nutrition thread. OMG is that effing delish. I dip some wheat thins in it. Wowza.

BG, I am glad the eating is seemly better. That is great!!!

Leaving at 3 am sounds like absolutely NO fun to me either!!! You rock for doing it in the first place.

I was so sweaty when I got to school that I was rethinking doing it. The college is up on the hill, but its only a 10 mile round trip. We rode the sport comfies up there last night to see if that was any better, and its not. Our roads suck so bad around here, they are so bumpy and its no fun to ride on a road bike in our town. Out of town, its fine, its just in town that sucks!!

Look like I'm going to be on my hybrid bike on the trails in MI this weekend, I've been threatened.

D, You are inspired. I love the idea of picking up something that weighs what I've lost. I have to find a regular size short woman. That could taken so wrong...

Later y'all

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
