JC, good job on the one cup of coffee!!! Way to go!!

BG, call them and threaten them with your temper tantrum....that should get your bike fixed FAST!!!

I love those long rides out in the country, they are so peaceful and really clear your mind. A car goes by maybe once in any 20 minute time period. DH and I have some of our best conversations out there on the road. I think we are back to getting road bikes again. We really think that they would help.

J, dont they have different road bikes. Sport, touring and racing???? What kind do you have?

D

Long country rides are fantastic.

I think they have road/touring or road/racing. The bikes are similar but what you add to it and the types of shifter etc. are the differences.

Mine is just an entry level road bike with cheapy shifters...as they get fancier, the smoother that move, the more expensive they become.

You are asking questions that's stretching my limited knowledge....

I know someone took my same bike and raced with it. (I read a review on line.)

I'll probably change out the gears next year to a step up or maybe two, because the frame should still be good and I'm going to want to spend the money. Ha!

Ok, that makes sense. What would your entry level be considered then? Touring? And if its not too personal, does your stomach get in the way when you are biking? I mean when you are down low, are you legs bouncing into your stomach? Does that make sense?

Now how am I going to answer that and still be all sexy for JC?

No, my stomach doesn't get in the way, but getting sweaty under the pannis is gross. With all the powder I use, and the heat, I could bake biscuits! Really, what's annoying when I'm hunched over is my boobs jiggle a bit too much. I'm thinking about getting the arm rests for my handle bars. They look so nice and my hand get so tingly, but that has me hunched. I don't know if I can handle the boob thing.

Touring bikes are road bikes with saddle bags and not all that concerned with weight. Racers are road bikes that are as streamlined as possible and as light as possible.

At under $1500 I don't believe they are that different. When you get higher up in the price they are more specific. I think.

I think I am feeling a little jiggly!!

New toy alert it is finally here! Maybe I can finally get some sleep! I now have the entire Underground Railroad Biker's Map Set and a brand new Hennessy Expedition A-sym Hammock Tent!

I will spend a couple days on one of our trails to see what kind of averages I can turn in after sleeping in this thing. That will help me decide if I can do the first two legs of the big trail then bust it to Michigan.

I am such a kid! I hung this thing up in the IT Dept. here at work.

oh god, JC, you must be such a hoot to be around!!!! You will be sleeping at work soon!!

J, yeah, I notice if I lean over my handlebars my boobs are jiggling around like there is no tomorrow. Maybe a really good couple of sports bras??? I don't know, I do know that the women I have seen riding have no boobs, so this might be quite the problem eh?

You know I can strap 'em down, but the still move as a unit, I didn't really notice until I was riding at dusk and had my sunglasses tucked into the neck of my shirt....I was riding and they bounced up and down...

Today was write the 20 page final paper day. I didn't exercise because I needed to write. I've got the kiddo tonight so there was no big bike ride. The goal is to work out during lunch tomorrow. But this is two days in a row with no work out. Herumph!

I leave on Saturday for vacation..but fear not, there is wireless access in our B&B and I'm taking my lap top. I'll be checking in.

OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHhhh

I'm on a different thread here the LGBT thread, and a woman on there is going to be in PTown when we are so we are going to have coffee!!!!!!

Isn't that a hoot!?! They're coming from California and just by chance we are going to be there at the same time, so she and I talked last night, exchanged cell phone numbers and are going to meet. I think it's so very cool!

Of course I'll tell you all about it.

When it rains it pours. I believe my poor car has been nuked! What a night, I put my truck in the shop and the car apparently got jealous, I had no idea I was driving such a drama queen.

BTW Now I am feeling a little bouncy! I don't know about all this strapped down unit moving stuff. Who would have thought biking would be so much fun?!!? WOW!

HAVE NOT A CLUE WHAT JUST HAPPENED.

ANYWAY...we ended up going for a almost 6 mile ride before it got dark on us. We only have a few close places to go in the evening, so most of my big rides have to be the weekend...which I defiantly will be getting in this weekend.

The ride is Sunday...I think we are going to ride saturday morning but not too hard....

I wore the bike shorts...still wish I sent them for smaller size, but didnt want to mess with the return so I kept them. But....wont be long and I will get new ones..LOL

J...we sure will miss you while you are gone....

D....I wonder if it would hurt to change my tires out before the ride on Sunday???

Jc..the people I emailed have not emailed me back about Evansville. We are thinking seriously about going that weekend. I go to florida the following week..

:clap2:

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
