C I am so excited for you. You are going to do great!

WYD Yeah that would be gross for me, so I am sure it is double gross for a man.

HP, yikes snakes is right. Probably a good thing Mr. BG was not with me though. He certainly would have unleashed his inner sissy girl.

Well the itty bitty head ache became a Migraine. I've had worse, like I didn't have to go to the hospital this time. What a mess. I live a fully scheduled life and I don't have time for the innterrupptions. -gawd, that's really wrongly spelled- but I don't care. Needless to say, I did not ride. I would have been chuckin' on the side of the trail.

My dog got a friend's tampon out of the trash at my house once, she was mortified, the dog was pretty pleased with herself and her tastey treat.

Snakes creep me out, but worms are worse. I can't stand them, I can't fish, not like I have ANY desire to, but the night crawlers are GROSS!!!

ZZ,

I was told no ibuprofin because it's rough on the stomach. So I only do aceteminophen.

My baby's momma is a RT and talks about sputum being the butter on their bread. It' grosses me out to no end.

Hi guys and gals! Y'all have a good day? I'm all set for surgery tomorrow! YAY!!!!! I am SSSOOOOOO excited!

ZZ: Ibuprofen can literally 'burn' a hole in your stomach or esophagus. It's very important that you drink a lot of Water when you take it to ensure that it actually goes down. It can get stuck to the sides and wreak havoc. Because you can't guzzle water with a Band, it increases your risk of ulcerations. Most docs say no more NSAIDS at all...so really pay attention to what you're taking unless your doc says otherwise.

Yay C!! You're going to have the best day ever tomorrow!!! Ahh, all the free drugs... Lol.

Thanks for the info on ibuprofen. I took tylenol today... which doesn't do shit for me. I'm still in pain (low back) and my head is slamming. Lol. When I took ibuprofen I'd usually take it with some pudding to help it slide down. And then I'd drink Water. I can feel when solid things go through my band, it's a slight discomfort, so I'm pretty sure I don't currently have any holes in mu tummy.

I have been having some indigestion though, since my fill last week. It better not be too tight! Lol. I'm sooo not going in for an unfil. I;ll just live on TUMS until I figure it out.

defiantly not!!!

I do have a wonderful thing to share. I hit my 100+ mark at the doctir today as well, and I got my picture taken, and am not going back to see him until June 3....I will be right past my 1 year mark.I am setting some serious goals. But what was exciting is that I lost 22 lbs since I was there last month!!! WOHOOOOOOOOOOO

So.....get some sleep turler......this will be so worth it...you have fought hard to get here, and you deserve every bit that you get from the success of the band

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
