Oh man, I am really excited. The amount of miles I am putting in a week on this mans bike and the pain and suffering I am having because of it, I really can not wait until I get my bike. Did you get the 2.1 too? I can't remember what you said. I can't sleep so thought I would post and update my biking ticker to reflect the 33.03 miles done last night.

I also can't wait to be able to see 130 pounds lost on my ticker....that will be one amazing day.

I have this saying when I do a great accomplishment, like the other day with the mountain pass....I say to DH, that deserves a family size pizza....and then I talk about all the toppings I want on it, and then we laugh, knowing that will never happen again and knowing that I am glad it will never happen again..

d!!!

I have the 2100. I have had some issues with my fingers and numbness, we are adjusting my handelbars and planning to get a ride in tonight to see if that helps.

I also bought a new speialzed seat, new specialzed shoes, and gloves last nite.....The shoes are really nice and comfy! My first pair were too narrow.

You are amazing to be able to accomplish all that you have. Do you have pictures of the top of the mountain????

HP and D,

You two are rocking the cycling and this forum! WTG, chicas.

I don't have much to contribute but I'm reading every word.

C, B, ZZ, TX, Whos, JC-How the heck and where the heck are you all?

BG is out riding this week, I know but the rest of you are hiding!

I'm here, just have nothing to contribute.

Even with my latest fill I can eat too much... and if I am able, I am willing.

Haven't heard from Stef. She hasn't logged onto this site since 6/5, but was on myspace on 6/22... yeah, I'm a stalker. No. I just happened to check it a few minutes ago...

Ya'll seem to be doing good!!

ZZ,

I sent TX a note to her house hoping to hear something back from her. I hope she's well.

I hear you about being willing to eat if you are able. I too can eat far too much. Ugh.

I'm tight sometimes but if I can work around the band, lord have mercy, I do. I'm getting a fill on Monday. If I can only do liquids for a few weeks I'll see that as just right.

Good morning everyone

I had a question since some of you have been biking for a while I thought someone might know the answer to this.

I started biking about 13 miles per day. At the end of the work out my legs are tired and im very sweaty. I ride at a very steady pace of around 11 mph and go up and down some minor hills in my travel.

Now my question is.. People are making comments that since I do this so often that it wont really help me much because my muscles get used to it. I could see something like that happening if my body wasn't being strained. But I get a workout of what I feel is just right for me and pushes me to some limits. Maybe someone can explain to me if I really am wasting my time... I didn't think I was.

Brandy

People are full of shit.

You are right. If you are sweating you are getting a cardiovascular workout. You are going for about an hour and 15 minutes right?

Now, if you never do anything different and feel this is the only working out you will do between now and the end of time, yeah there's something to their logic. Your body will get used to the route and your metabolism will adjust. But I'm guessing that's still a bit of time from now.

When it comes time to challenge yourself go more quickly, go further, do some strength training here and there.

But pee on those people who are giving you grief about your cycling now.

I just left the R and R thread, sorry if I sound harsh!

HAHA thanks for your input. Thats exactly how I felt and thought I just guess I wanted reinforcement. I cannot see you doing anything and sweating and breathing hard and not getting a workout lol.

Last time I timed myself it took 78 minutes for the ride. I have started mixing it up at times. I might stand up and peddle, slow down, speed up, take a new route... but it's always around the same distance. I don't feel comfortable enough with it to ride farther maybe just a new route with more hills.

I actually had my first victory this morning on my ride.. I made it the whole way without getting off my bike for the biggest hill I have.. Sounds silly but I LOL'd as I hit the top I didn't care who saw me  :w00t:

I just bought a bike this weekend. Now don't laugh, but I got the old fashioned kind. The kind I had as a kid. Brakes on the pedals, no bar across the middle (a girl bike) and a big seat with handlebars you don't hunch over. DH has to tighten the seat and air the tires and then I'm ready to try her out! Don't expect to get very far, but I think this is something I will do. Kinda looking forward to it. Won't be riding in any races but want to give this a try.
