Um, HP, I have something to tell you.

I rode another 32.99 miles last nite.

I am having way to much fun with this challenge. I love to win, just so you know.

I am getting a fill today, so no riding tonight and tomorrow nite is skate night, so no riding tomorrow night either. Friday night though, watch out. Saturday morning is the Tour of Marsh Valley, I could do 100 miler then....hmmmmmmmmm....should I let you catch up??????

d...there is no way I am going to be able to keep up or catch up!!!! LOL

I only was able to get in (due to time) 20 miles last night...The only thing we have close within 15 mon of the house is hills..which is ok, but.....you cant rack miles that way..

I was planning on riding tonight after work, but my daughters bike is going to the shop instead....something is wrong with the derailler and the pedals. SO.......you are forever ahead!!!! I am sad.....But.....I will still give it my all!!!!!

It may be....I wonder if it is the 2008 model of it??? I looked at one and test rode a mens and the womens version of it is cremsicle...so...that was one I test rode.......

Are you for sure getting it????????

Well.....keep on pedaling and having fun...eventually I will catch up............

190 is a far cry from nothing. It's a far cry from 313 too, but I'm saying there's still fat to lose.

hey all... i'm looking for some new pals to ride with in new york. anyone game for central park evening rides or weekend excursions over the gw bridge and into new jersey? if so, please speak up.

fyi, i'm no speed demon, but i'm a pretty strong biker. haven't really done more than 30ish mile rides this season. still, i think i'm strong enough to hang off your back wheel from at 15ish mph.

This has had to be the best thread I've come accross on the many band sites I've been to. I had been reluctant to post anything because of all the negativity. It seems like people are depressed, trying bigger and better ways to get around their bands or just complaining incessantly. It's nice to see a positive group of people. I think everyone who gets banded should buy a half-way decent bike!

lovegrapes!!! We are all energetic and have had our ups and downs with our band, but all in all we are all here for one another and love to ride!

I am challenging myself to go out of the comfort zone I enjoy so much and am riding with a group of people from work today. All very experienced riders, but we have been invited to go, and we are going.

I am excited and nervous all the same....ughhhh

Dropped my daughters bike off last nite at the LBS to get a complete tune up and have him check and fix the problems she is having. Hoping we get it fixed and back on the road for her.

Hey Hungry.

Wish I were in NYC.

30 mile rides are good.

aww shucks, juli. despite what you may have heard, nyc is a great place to bike. we've got monthly midnight rides around central park to routes up and down the hudson. fi you ever make it out this way, definitely bring your bike!

Whos,

I'm not running right now. It was hurting my knee. I'm actually spending more time in the gym than on my bike. It's quicker and grad school takes nearly all my non work time. (And a good chunk of my work time, shhh, don't tell my boss.)

But I can walk into the gym kick my own butt for an hour and walk out. Cycling just takes more time than that, getting geared up, putting air in the tires, etc. But what I'm doing in the gym keeps me good for the every other weekend rides that I do. Me and the GF are looking at a 60 mile ride on Sunday.

I'm so impressed with your tri-atheletism. And awesome time. You da man.

Yeah, I know being well under 200 is stunning to me. I've had three days in a row of 190 pounds. Yes, I weigh daily. I'm going to fall over when I see the 170's. That was my wieght when I was 17.

H4H,

I can only imagine how freaking awesome a midnight ride would be in your city.

Grapes,

There's a fair amount of bitching on this thread, but we try to keep it positive as much as possible. Also, we get raw sometimes, so it's not really for the faint of heart, but we are quick to share the love with anyone who rides. So jump in!

if you ever do make it to nyc, the moonlight rides are the first friday of the month. folks meet in columbus circle at 10pm and ride around the park's loop (no cars!) at a leisurely pace. total mileage, a very manageable 10 miles.

and if you can bike down from ossining or take metronorth (our commuter rail). just go to their website and download a bike permit. (conductors will fine you if you don't have one.)

HP, you know I was kidding with you!!! I love you!! You are awesome. I can get on my bike in my garage and leave the house and ride my 30 miles and get back home on my bike. You, on the other hand, have to load them all up and then go. You are doing awesome and I was just playing the challenge bit up a little too much. Sorry if I hurt your feelings!!!

Welcome to all the newbies of the bicycling thread!!

I totally agree with all new bandsters should have to ride a bike after surgery. Its the best sport ever!!

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
