Personally I feel like crap. Probably because I did not get home until after midnight and I work at 4 am.

Yeah there was a lot of partying going on. Nothing quite like sports celebrations in downtown Detroit.

After I was banded I dragged out my bike. I won it several years ago in a raffle and rode if maybe 3 times. Last summer and fall I rode it several times a week. Now that the weather's nice again the bike has come out once more. So much better than my winter bike (stationary at the gym)!

I'm thinking about getting a road bike eventually. This bike is great, but it's a mountain bike and not really made for street riding. Plus when I eventually do my triathalon, I think a road bike would be better (I know there are tri bikes out there but they are out of my budget!)

Printing mapquest directions as I type.

Grayhounder,

Cool about doing a tri. That's amazing. Yeah, a road bike will do you better in that event, well nearly anywhere where you are riding on pavement, not soil.

Keep us posted on your progress!

My husband and I went out today on a new route...he ended up with about 4 more miles than me, because we ended up with 94 degree temps, wind blowing at a good 10-20 miles with high gust at times.

But all and all good riding and a good route.

Questions for all

I am having trouble with my hand getting numb. Mainly my pinkie and next finger. Still hurting this evening? Any suggestions?

Thanks

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
