TX.....Your ride soudns awesome, and yes hills are defiantly a major challenge. it is learning how to breathe when you are going up, learning how to make sure you are in the correct gear.....it is so tricky...I am doing better than last year.......and this year with the pedals.....its like I either keep going or I will proably be on my butt!!

I am so sore today from my fall. I tried so hard to not whine about it last night...but damn!!!!!

Anyways.......................I got to my first big goal........!!! I am sooooo happy!!! It has really inspired me to keep going this month.

Thanks for everyones support on here....you all are amazing

ZZ - Yeah, I know. But actually, there are so many "recommended rides" as a prelude to doing the 150 mile ride in May. They recommend them for training. All the fun is a bonus! But it does seem impossible for me to sign up for the lower mileages. Tour Dallas had 8, 20, and 30 and I had to do the 30...the Lancaster Country Ride has 23, 42 and 63 mile routes and I have to do 63. I don't want to miss anything! LOL

BG - That ride sounds amazing! I don't know of anything like that around here. How will the family survive without you for a week? I can't wait to see you pics from that one.

HP - Sorry you are sore from yesterday! I'm glad yall got to ride, though! I was feeling bad for all yalls cold weather! And you hit the 100 pounds lost goal! That is totally rockin! I'm proud of you!

Wow HP! I can't believe you beat me! Grrrr!!!!! Lol. Seriously though - CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!

I hope to be right there with you in the next week or so.

My fill is holding out fairly well... eating soft foods and tolerating about 1/4-1/2 cup before I feel like one more bite will kill me. OK, maybe not that dramatic, but still.

J I so have to try out the aerobars when I am down nexst week. I want some really bad me thinks.

It is sunny and 51 right now. How effing exciting is that? I am all dressed to go just waiting on some podcasts to download. House is clean, chores are done. I hope to get in a good 25 miles. And I am not going to lie I was a bit excited to find out that my church has podcasts from their weekend services. Si I looked up some relevnt ones to keep my mind busy while I am riding. Think anger management lol.

I still don't have the aerobars and I was told I need to stop falling down before I even pretend to use them. I want them badly though well in for the most part because I've already PAID for them....

I can't wait to ride tomorrow. I ran behind Zoe as she cycled today. I got in a WHOLE mile. But we also played tag on the playground, etc. I'm a mom who plays tag with her kid!!!! I'm very proud of that!

You will get there I promise..one thing I noticed from last year to now, is that I must not be eating as much because I was sick too my stomach on my ride today and very light headed...MUST fix that. We had some energy gel...GOSH that stuff is gross.....But I managed to get most of it down.....ughhhhh There has to be a better way

J...it really stinks falling doesnt't it??? I am having a hard time thinking and making sure I do what I am supposed to do...LOL Defiantly not multi talented.....

Anyway.....got a good ride in today, no falls...WOHOOOOOO

I just hope we keep this nice weather

I'm going to try for 30 miles on the bike path near my house tomorrow. It's a nice path but very VERY crowded with pedestrians and other cyclists. A person is lucky to make 12 mph due to all the twists and dumbasses walking their dogs on the path...

I hope everyone enjoyed the beautiful weather this weekend. It was absolutely perfect here! Gee, that's something you hear very often from us Ohio and Michigan folks!

HP: Congrats on your major accomplishment! Way to go! I'm sorry for your family's loss. Take care.

J: Be careful on the path...it can be chaos with all the walkers, skateboarders, rollerbladers and critters! Have fun though!

Have a great week everyone!

I am not off work, but I will RUN out the door at 4pm, get home by 4:10 and be on the path by 4:30. I can ride until 6:30 or 7pm.

I wish I was off of work. Depending on the weather tomorrow I'm coming in early so I can leave early so I can get my ride in before a 6pm obligation.

I forgot how much I'll rearrange my life to fit in cycling. God, I love it!!!

oh i know....i wish i was able to ride every day....we are in desperate search of some better places to ride to get miles in, and not be fighting so much with hills all the time. It is hard unless we "drive' somewhere...but it is well worth it, as I am down again today!!! WOOHOOOOOOOOO

Enjoy the day everyone

No ride for me this weekend.:purplebananna: Had DD all day on Saturday and yesterday it rained all day. Oh well, that is April up here. I'll be putting the mileage on soon enough. Just sucks having a great new bike collecting dust on the weekend.

question to all you bikers out there...I bought a mountain bike when a bike shop in town was going out of business. It's a fancy Diamondback with dual shocks and disc brakes, a very nice bike indeed. I had my sisters husband put road tires on it, since I mostly use it to ride on the pavement. With riding mostly on pavement right now, should I buy a hybrid bike, will it be easier to ride on the road? I have a psi gauge on my bike pump, so I always make sure I've got plenty of air in my tires, but I'm wondering if it's just not meant to be rode on the road like I do and that's why it's so hard to do? Once the weather warms up, I hope to ride it a lot more, but I just wonder if I'd be better off selling this one and getting one of those hybrid bikes people talk about. What do you all think?:Dancing_wub:

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
