Has anyone taken up Bycyling?

Recommended Posts

It's been a stressful week waiting for the results as you can imagine. This was the best news I could have heard! The surgeon and oncologist both agree to go ahead (unless something else happens between now and then, God forbid please!) and have surgery on April 10th!

Spring Break is on here...my daughter is out applying for jobs! heh heh I wish I were on Spring Break, in sunshine and warmth! {sigh} I can't believe you got snow today. Glad you got out on Gloria though. Sick of this weather!!

Now maybe y'all can help me? I'm trying to figure out how to put podcasts on my ipod. I'm not techno challenged by any stretch, but I've just never done this and I can't figure it out! HELP!

Hey TX - Sorry to hear about your diabetes Dx... In case you haven't found it yet, click on "Advanced" and choose "Subscribe to Podcast". You can enter the URL for the podcast, and it should work....

JC I take B12 under the tounge daily. It is not so bad and I can definitly tell the difference when I take it vs when I forget.

I HIGHLY recomend it to everyone. It is something most people dont have enough of in their body. It is very benificial especially after any surgery for healing. I would definitly try the drops under the tounge before getting the shots.

Here i am....right here...no..over here.

Such a shitty day, and I read this and just smile and think "Uh huh! That's DADDY! Goofy as ever!" So simple, but I needed that. :sneaky:

Thanks, B! For the condolences and the tip! I hadn't figured it out yet and that did it!

Hey sweetie - I've missed you, and the rest of the gang here, too. I've been traveling a lot for work lately - on track to make PlAAtinum by June - haven't travelled this much since the go-go days in the late 90's/2000. Makes it hard to spend much time with the bycylers, or the bycyle for that matter.

I'm +5 pounds from the ticker weight, mostly due to no exercise, and a steady diet of No-whip Mocha Frappuccinos - about the only thing that is guaranteed to go down while on the road. PBing in a suit and tie sucketh mightily...

It looks like the job in Chi-town is a no-go. Sucks. They choked during the salary conversation & I'm just not willing to whore myself out at a loss, even for a job that might be a good strategic move - today's bills have to be paid today, dontcha know.

It's all good, though. I'm starting to get some of the support from the C-Suite that I need to get my current job done - after 3+ years, I might be able to make some progress.

Well, off to the aeropuerto for another lovely adventure in the friendly skies.

Ciao-

B

I've always enjoyed biking except that sice I've been obese the seats have been very uncomfortable. The 10 speed bike seats are very painful... Any I've been afraid I would pop the tires... I weigh 256 two weeks post op.... and I've lost almost 20 pounds.... ANy suggestions on bikes or bike seats... Oh and I have a 2 year old... I would need to take with me. Maybe a jogging stroller would be better..

Hello and welcome.

If you notice my ticker weight I am not too much less than yourself, and I ride. I started as allot did

on a hybrid bike, which is much more upright than the old 10 speed bikes. But, have upgraded to a road bike, with flat handelbars..so I am still in a semi upright position.

They say the bigger the seat the harder on your tush...I actually tend to agree.I have a new seat with my new bike, and am very comfortable in it....(odd but true)

I started riding at 335/340 last year.....I always just made sure my tires had the proper inflation in them...

Best of luck...this is a great group to get information from...

Well pp I am off too work...talk soon...

Caparsi,

Hi and welcome!

You're size on the bike is a non issue. It will hold you. A properly inflated tire will hold you. Promise.

As for your tushy, smaller seat equals better. You do need to get used to a bike seat, typically it takes 2 or 3 rides within 10 days for you to break in your butt...If it still hurts after that try a different seat.

For your kid there are tag along trailors when they are that small. Get him a helmet too so his noggin is as safe as yours.

Please consider exploring cycling further. You might find you'll love it! We all do.

Keep talking to us about it, we'll give you lots of encouragement!

B,

No Chi Town???? Oh, I'm crushed! I bet your wife is pleased though not to have you across the country. I was hoping you'd become a mid-westerner like the majority of us here. Stef and Texas still get to have you. Alas.

Traveling like that is rough. Might I suggest a skinny latte with sweetener, if you are looking to shave a few calories but still get that caffinated frenzied feeling? It's my drug, er I mean drink, of choice. All my writings about Starbucks has me so into that place it's freakish...my HR class has me delving deeping into a corporation's practices, and since where I work is broken badly, I was sent out to pick a public company. I chose *$, and now know everything their PR department has put out there. I'm pretty certain they're not as fantastic as it all seems, but I'm in love with them as an organization, anyway.

XO, Dude. We're thinking of you.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
