If there isn't ice, I'll be riding. Even if I only get in 5 miles. Actually there's a 10 mile loop we like. It's on the road, nice and flat. I'm packing my cold weather gear...

I've missed you, too, Daddy! I've missed all of you! I hope we have nice weather here on Saturday so I can ride...I need to get a nice long ride in...it's been a while for a long one. It sounds like you all are going to get to ride, too! YEA! I'm so glad! I always feel so bad for you guys not being able to get out there because of your weather. The trainer just isn't the same as getting out on the road.

MMMM.....Cooooooo-KeeeeeeeZ

That's true. Some days when I walk out my door in July at 100+ degrees, it can be so hot and humid it feels like it will steal the breath out of my lungs! And all I want to do is hit the pool!

I don't care that the wind chill here is 24 degrees not including the wind on my face from the feirce speed of Big Sexy. Oh yes I took her out for a spin down the street. I totally heart my shoes, so easy to get out of. I don't think it will be a problem unless I forget I have to unclip.

It did take me a minute to figure out how to gear up though. I clicked the shifters and it took me down to the absolute easiest resistance there was but I could not figure out how to get the darn thng back up again. LOL. Duh. I finally figured it out after reading my owners manual. Now I remember them telling me in the store how to do it. I never had such a fancy tbike before. I am in bycyle heaven.

Well BG - I'm in bycyle hell! Wah!!!

OK all, I need encouragement...

I was soooo excited all day long to get home from work and ride my bike in the 65F weather... I was singing songs about it and annoying my co-workers. Actually a few of them were excited too and we've kinda discussed doing a trail together one evening soon...

So - I get home and change my clothes and load up my bike. I drive out to the 5 mile stretch of road where I usually walk. I was all hyped up and put on my little gloves and my helmet... and I set off. Itw as slow going, but once I got really going I started to worry cause it felt like I was going really fast. I stayed on the sidewalk, cause my balance still isn't real good and I weave in and out a bit and didn't want to panic drivers on the road, nor did I want to fall over and get ran over.

Um... So I went a total of 1.5 miles... .5 of that was downhill, .5 of it was level, and .5 of it I walked. I absolutely cannot bike up even the slightest kint of a hill! I know I should change gears or something, but I tried and it didn't do anything but sound and feel like the chain was loose? I've always had bikes with just one egar, so I'm clueless about this stuff!!! HELP ME!

It was definitly a good workout and I loved the parts where I was actually on the bike. My ass hurts like hell and I am going to get a gel seat SOON. I dont want to feel discouraged, but I do.

The whole way home I wanted ice cream (comfort food) thank goodness I'm too vain to go to the store all red faced and sweaty, Lol.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
