Cerrin 3 Posted March 10, 2008 I am really sorry if this has been asked before BUT, Does anyone think I should wait till I lose weight to ride a bike? Do you think I am too heavy for a bike? I wont take offence honestly. But I want to ride this summer and have an old fashioned bike and love it but havent ridden in YEARS. Please help.
babygrl1234 6 Posted March 10, 2008 I think you should take your bike to the local bike shop and have them evaluate it to make sure it is in good working condition to hold your weight. I am not sure how old it is but that would be your best bet in making sure you are safe to ride. You should be fine though.

whosyadaddy 0 Posted March 10, 2008 Cerrrin....im about 328 right now and hoping to hit lower before i ride outdoors. I have a really strong Mountain Bike that i ride ok but i guess it would depend on the bike your going to ride. I use all the bikes at the gym right now and do a spin class at least 3x a weektrying to get more weight off. I wouldnt know how to awnser your question as i dont know what kind of bike it is. Cerrin 3 Posted March 10, 2008 Thanks I apreciate the info. It is an old bike with the tall handle bars. lol I dont know too much more. I think the information about taking it to a bike shop is a great idea. I will have to do that this weekend. I dont necessaraly want to do power biking but I would love to be able to ride to the grocery store or down to the park. Either is about 2 miles one way and I am pretty sure I can do that. but I was just worried about my bike falling apart. lol Thanks you are a great help!
