Hey J, Glad to be back!

ZZ, I can't stop staring at the viens in my hand, it just amazes me.

Talk about super nerd I am working on an ancient Interactive Voice Response System tonight. The Damn thing was old when I hired in 8 years ago. Now I am the only one, including our vendor who remembers how to build one from scratch! Lucky me right!?!

I love my dorky bike peeps. In fact I heart you guys.

And I am in Whole Foods fukin heaven. Number one, hummous. I don't like the stuff much, but if I am going to be veggie I am gonna learn to. So I got me some multigrain bagel chips and the sampler platter with original, red pepper, spinach, and babaganoug. Holy fucking delicious. My taste buds are dancing. Number two, Turtle Mountain soy ice cream. Sweetened with fruit juice Carob Peppermint flavor (think mint chocolate). Soy delicious. I think I died and went to heaven. And even if I pig out and eat the whole pint it is only 460 calories and 6 grams of fat. Not great but not as bad a regualr ice cream. I am seriously shocked at how outrageously delicious it is. If I did not think I could do this before I certainly think I can now.

One of the coolest things that happened the day I ended up in the Emergency Room was that a group of military medics were doing training at Tampa General. A Navy Seal Medic came over to me to take blood. The guy took one look at my arm and said God look at those pipes! I wish everyone had veins like those! There are no words for how great of an accomplishment I felt from hearing those two little sentences. Especially when a year prior I almost passed out from somone repeatedly stabbing my arm in search of a vein.

Have any of you tried Goat whey? I have been on it for about a month and am digging it because I don't seem to get dehydrated after having a shake.< /p>

You know what they say, Lacoochee, where the men are men and the goats are nervous! LOL

Really, you should look into it, the stuff digests better than bovine whey and egg whey is so freaking expensive.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
