Thanks everyone. I am feeling better. I am down another pound today, inspite of the chocolatey diet I've had this week. Damn Snickers and their satisfyness...

So I wrote down a goal today... No chocolate for 7 days. One day down... 6 to go. Its got me all excited for next Tuesday. Lol. I'm a huge chocolate freak.

Anyway... I also have been inside the gym in about 2 weeks. Initially Thanksgiving threw me off, and its too cold to walk outside right now (cause I'm a huge baby and hate the cold.) So Tomorrow night I will start back at the gym.

I also need to start taking my Vitamins again... Heaven forbid I had a medical condition that required me to take a pill daily, I think I'd die.

I want to schedule a fill, based on my calorie intake, but when I eat the right things I have great restriction. It's all about choices.

You all are doing so great.

You know ZZ one thing I have found is that if I weven have a little bit of chocolate in the am I will eat the shit all day. It is like all or nothing for me. LAtely I have been have a cup of SF hot chocolate before bed. That has been nice. I hope to be able to get to the point where I can eat one small square of dark chocolate before going to bed. I know if I try now I will eat the whole damn bar.

J I liked running a whole lot better when I was just doing a little bit of it. You know like 1 minute walking, one running. Now that I KNOW I can do it for like 45 minutes straight I feel like I have to do that. Plus I just can't run slow as I should. Not that I am very fast or anything but I did finish my 3 miles in like 38 minutes yesterday which is just a tad under 13 minutes per mile. That is really good for me. I know it is going to be so much easier to run at 150 than it is to run at 199 but I am just so damn impatient, I want it now.

Hey! Did I tell y'all?!?!?

You didn't know that I smoked, but I did for 25 years. (Started at 15 because I just looked so "cool". GAG) Tomorrow will be four weeks QUIT! GO ME! LOL I can't believe it! What made me think about it is y'alls running...maybe I can run now without my lungs feeling like they are being impaled? I keep threatening to do it, but never do. We'll see...

BG,

You run a 13 minute mile????? I'm so impressed! Really, that's amazing!!!! It will become easier, it will it will!

You really are a rock star!

I was eating a square of 70%+cocoa chocolate everyday back in Oct. but then I was eating more and more and more. So I had to put a stop to it. Now however it's creeping back in....with chocolate EVERYWHERE it's so are to resist. But I try.

I like the idea of hot chocolate, SF. I have some I should give it a try.

TX,

I can't do you justice with the animated gifs and video clips you do, but know I thought about it.

QUITTING SMOKING IS FANTASTIC!!!!!!

You should be so proud. It's a wonderful thing you've done for yourself!!!

Biking will be easier too. But hey, if you start running we'll talk to you about that too.

Rock on Chica!

Well, the new bike discussion went quite well with the wife. Although she would rather not spend the money now, I think that she's excited about the lunchtime rides with the folks from work. She's also excited that I am excited about exercising again (which is really the key to health), so... It looks like I'll be the proud owner of a Bacchetta Giro 26 in the next day or so. I need to clean my bike up real good to get top dollar for trade. I just don't have the patience for eBay or Craig's List where I could get more for it.

So, TX, if you don't mind being seen with someone who rides one of those "funny lookin' bikes", then let's plan to start riding some on the weekends in January. It'll take me a few weeks to get used to the new setup...

B

To clean your gears, and you might already know this, get an old shoe string and go between them.....

I just learned about that and thought, "wow, cool".

I like the new bike. JC will be jealous when he shows up again.

Thanks J. It seems painfully slow sometimes but I don't really care. I am just glad I am doing it.

Steph congrats on the 4 weeks. I know how painfully hard that is.

B nice new bike!

Thanks J - didn't know about the shoestring thing. Oopha, that's a lot of cleaning for all the gears... but in the end, probably worth it.

I'm very excited, and very nervous. It's such a different way of riding. I rode several different styles, and the bike I thought I wanted was just too damn big - it's almost 8 feet long (that's way longer than most tandems). This is the one that screamed "ride me, bitch" so, I think it's the one I should get. It will take a while getting used to it, though.

For a high-bottom-bracket bike, good clipless pedals are even more useful, since gravity won't help hold your foot on the pedal, but it will be a while before I feel comfortable being attached to the thing with my feet 3 feet off the ground...

Sorry - giddy like a schoolgirl :)

So awesome B!!!!!! I love that feeling of getting a new bike..I should know...I bought three this last year....and DH wants one more still...a mountain bike...

J, I just love ya!!!! You really are an awesome woman...you know just what to say when someone needs it and how to kick ass when someone needs it.

BG, you are also awesome with your 13 minute mile....you are rocking it girl. I wish I could run that long. The longest I have ran is 8 minutes and I thought I was gonna die after I walked for 5 and then started running another 8 after that .....you go girl!!!

ZZ, I really crave chocolate sometimes. I really want to go buy a candy bar. I really really really want to sometimes. BUT, most of the time, I don't even think about it, and I never keep it in my house. Don't get me wrong, on Halloween, you would of thought I was 10 the way I was hording around my DD's candy, and I did eat some. But, for some reason, I don't want it all the time like I did before banding. Before banding, I would send DH across the street to store every night to buy two bags of candy or two packages of Oreo's. I ALWAYS go my own package or bag too. DD and DH had to share one. I laugh about it now, but boy, talk about killing yourself slowly...

TX, that is so effing awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You are now an official NON- SMOKER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I used to smoke also, and soooooooooooooooooooooo glad that I don't do that anymore either.....I am rather boring person now...I can't eat and I don't smoke or drink anymore....LOL...

So I was off work today because I had a dentist appointment (lucky me). I am so effing bored. I seriously wish I was working right now. I have already worked out, cleaned the house, read a little, watched some tv, been online. I want to just stab myself in the eye.

This very true D. I have been a very bad girl about going to the dentist. How bad? Like 8 years since I have been there bad. Luckily all I had wrong was a very tiny cavity that I have to get filled next week. Not too shabby I suppose.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
