You guys just rock!! I went back to week three to do that part over again. On Tuesday I did the first day of week four, but it hurt my knee...A LOT....so I decided to go back to week three again for the rest of this week. If it were not for that damn knee, I would be cruising it with this running. I love it too. I am soooooo damn proud of you BG!!! That is soooo awesome about the Thanksgiving Trot!!! You will do absolutely fabulous.

I went and weighed. I am not happy. Not happy at all. ACTUALLY, YOU COULD SAY PISSED OFF!!

Sometimes I am sooo dumb. I forget that I have free weekends. :tired I do not have any picture messaging though or the internet on my phone, so the pictures will have to come through my regular email. Are you guys planning on talking (chatting) in Eastern time? I want to come and join you all if I am home.

Thanks HP!

D, you are kicking ass, don't let the numbers get you down. I know, they bother me too, but I keep telling myself, that I need to stay focussed and I vent here just in case I need a pep talk or an ass kicking.

BG, 4 miles are you trying to kill me????? What is your pace? I am averaging 10 min. Miles. My pace seems to depend on how close to 100 degrees the temperature is, or if there is plenty of cloud cover.

Am I the only one to notice that the bycyling thread is becoming a running thread? I think it's amazing and a pretty natural progression. I'm just jealous that I'm not ready to run.

But when I am, watch out, cuz I'll catch ya.

J I think designing a pattern and then printing it onto Iron on transfer paper is a great idea. We should dicuss that tomorrow. We can all decided on a design and then use white shirts. Now I just need to buy an iron.

JC I am probably around 12:30-13:00 miles. I want to inrease my distance frist and then work on the speed. I am finging that as I get fitter I get faster.

Pretty soon we will all being doing Triathlons.

J, you will be hard to compete with when you start running I have no doubt.

BG, I am thinking the same way, distance first. I don't try to hit a certain speed, right now I just go at the pace that feels natural. I'm not sure if that makes sense. I guess, I don't conciuosly choose my speed is what I am trying to say. I will try to add enough distance by Thursday to keep up.

I have always dreamed of being able to do a Triathalon, ever since the first time I saw it on TV.

That would be a day that I think would TOP almost all others!!!

Can't even focuss on work right now, expecting a call telling me my truck is ready to hit the road!!!!!

JC I understand completely about the pace thing. And the reason I am starting the running is because I do want to do a Tri one day. I love swimming, I love biking, but running not so much. I am trying really hard to get into it but even if I don't love it I want to be able to do it.

jc, a triathalon would not surprise me at all coming out of you. You have the spirit and fight to do it!!!! Come on truck!!!! That was a well wishing going out to your truck!! This could become a ruunnnninnngg thread pretty easy.

It is hard not to concentrate on the numbers when you gain weight. This so freakin' sucks ass. I just want to go to bed and not get up for a few days. I just might.

You know, I am SUPPOSE to be doing homework, but I am not. I guess I should go lick my bike now.

Hi Teresa. Welcome to othe bicycling corner of the LBT.

All,

When I was in Madison they had the Ironman competition happening. Holy Cow that was a sight to see. BG and JC, you do it I'll be there to cheer you on!

I could do the 100+ miles of biking. I could maybe run a marathon. I could not swim 2 miles. Never, ever.

But, it is my understanding that swimming is the best conditioning for the other two because it helps you learn to regulate your breathing in the best way possible.

Rock ON!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
