BG - Sorry about your accident. Glad, though, that you weren't hurt.

JC - I'm like you - I want solutions, not unknowns; however, hopefully the delay and change of venue will bode well for keeping your band, and not going under the knife to have it revise/removed, etc.

HP - Good for you for taking a road bike for a test spin, and for knowing that it didn't feel right. That's why it's important to ride several (many) before buying one. It may be that a trek 2000 in the right size frame would fit well, or it may just be some quirky geometry that won't agree with you no matter what size it is. Keep looking and riding 'til you find one that fits right.

J & D - How's school going? I'm trying to get a crapload of stuff done before mine starts up on 9/17...

I may not be logging big miles on the bike, but I have been walking 2 miles a day and riding the trainer for a little over an hour every day. It's sad when the fitday estimate for calories burned due to purposeful exercize is well over the number of calories consumed. It should make the ticker drop like a rock, though...

Have a good day!!

B-

The exercise to calories consumed graph feels like a joke some days. I know I'm losing pretty quickly, but going by those measures I'd be a toothpick already.

But I did love putting in 4:06 for time on the bike on Saturday. That was my all time exercise calories burned. I hit 5000 for the day including the basal....

BG, I discovered some liquid tylenol 3 in the medicine cabinet...I was gitty about it at the time. I know what you mean...hopefully the you can get some relief. :)

J - Agree that it is sometimes a joke, but none-the-less, still fun to see that I consume 657 calories and it estimated 739 due to logged exercise... What is more of a joke is the estimate that says in 12 weeks, I'll weigh 196... If only it were that easy :)

BG - Mmmmm... Vicodin.... I have some codeine-based cough medicine in reserve for those completely craptastic days, plus a little of the loritab Syrup left over.

HP, I so excited for you!! A road bike!! Just know that getting on a road bike is like nothing you have experienced before. It is not like getting on your hybrid. It is going to feel damn weird and uncomfortable. It took a good three times out before I felt any kind of comfort on mine. The Pilot would be a good one to try. It sits you up a little straighter. I have a Madonne.

D!!

She's alive!

School isn't a joy, but it's SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better than it was in the summer when I was taking too excellorated classes at the same time. I'd just sit down and cry at times. This is doable. I have class tonight and the young woman I sit next to and I have become friends. She's an accounting major so a complete number slut. I can't imagine. Anyway, we talk on the phone and it's been so helpful! I'm going to try to get her study with me for the final. Maybe I'll bake Cookies and take them in....

Yeah, I've been known to bribe people with food. Bad I know, but offering sexual favors doesn't get me very far, and I'm not about to offer to clean someone's car or anything!

What classes are you taking? Are you quarterly or semesters? I do TRI mesters. 3, six week session per in the fall and winter, and 2, six week sessions in the summer.

Xo

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
