D scrubs are great once they have been washed. Very comfy.

JC I am so not an IT person. I wish I were though because I am dreading the amount of scan mod/ peoplesoft issues I am going to have to deal with when I get back to work. I need to take a course or something. And on the food thing you can so do this.

I don't know what bike I would choose honestly. I have not done much research because it will depress me that I can't have one. Stemming off of that though if I did win all that money I think I wold give most of it away. I would want to be sure I would live comfortably for life and all but I would rather someone else have the hassle of deciding what to do with all of it.

Oh and for the first time all week I have not gorged myself.

D - Sorry you keep losing your posts. It pisses me off when that happens. Like others, I have started typing my longer posts in word, and copying and pasting to the forum...

BG - I haven't ridden since July 18, so i feel your pain on not riding. Get out there and get riding again. Ride that old dirty bastard with a smile... BTW - If you win the lottery, send a couple K my way for a new bike. Will be buying a ticket tonight as well, so I will be happy to reciprocate...

JC - Thanks! I want to work hard enough on the trainer so that I'm stronger when I get out on the road than the last time I rode. Tonight I'll ride for 45 minutes. In answer to your question about ultimate bike - RANS Stratus XP Titanium http://www.ransbikes.com/SXPTI%2007.htm#. It's not a sexy roadie, but for the type of endurance riding I want to do, it will be perfect. Will probably end up with the Steel version of that bike, though. $1,995 v. $5,000. Aluminum is $3,500, but has reduced weight limit, so if I was going to spring the $3,500, I'd go ahead and fork over the extra $1,500 for the titanium. I hope that your surgery goes well and the doc is able to correct your band. You are a strong person, and we will be here to support you.

HP - I love fried chicken, too (part of the reason I ended up at 336, I think). Early this summer, once I knew I was going to be banded, I had a farewell fried chicken dinner. It was the worst fried chicken I'd ever had. Was soooo pissed off. I think, though, it's one of those foods that I will have to avoid, good fried chicken is just too good to have only a few bites.

J - :) back at ya! Enjoy the hell out of your ride tomorrow! Let us know how it goes - I expect that we'll hear the "Woo Hoo!!!!" all the way down here in Texas!

Jobstud - Are you still with us? Did you ever get your bike?

B

J, I have never sought the counseling route although I should. I think considering the fact that I have been overweight almost all my life, alot of the problem started when I was about a year and a half old, that's when I lost my Mom, followed closely by my Grand mother and my oldest sister's boyfriend. I could continue but it is too depressing. I will have to deal with that stuff one day, I am just not sure when. :-(

BG, Great pics! I think I saw a spark of that "BG" Attitude in one of the pics. I can aslo see why you were missing ODB.

Thanks y'all.

Yeah JC both of my kids are little spitfires. Korrine is the spitting image of me at age 6 but with gray eyes.

And yes ODB was missed greatly. I wish i had some pictures of the hills in town....oh my goodness it would have been a blast.

That's my baby.

It was a great ride, but I'm tired and I'm meeting my brother and his wife out tonight at 10. (Who goes out at 10?!) to see someone the know perform. He lives about 1.5 hours away, so it's kind of a treat. Needless to say, I'm going to take a nap!

WOO HOO! I tell you all more later.

XO

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
