HP, I jost womens shorts. I LOVE , LOVE, LOVE THEM!!! What a freakin difference some padding makes. As for the shirt. I love love love that too. Whisks the sweat right away and it breathes too so you get air on your body.

Ya know what the hardest part of my life is right now? I have been pretty much isolated from other people this whole summer. Since the time of my surgery. I have my family, but I don't work, so I have ben mostly just around my family and now that I am back to school, I have to deal with all the dumb things that people say and FOOD!!! FOOD!! FOOD!! It is everywhere!!! Everyone is eating it all the time and it is greasy fatty slimy food. chicken strips and fries and fry sauce. That is what I had to deal with yesterday and it smelled good. And I was eating my cottage cheese and trail mix. I actually didn't look that good, but the smell was heavenly. I guess I am going to have to get used to this. I think that everyone, even skinny people, think of food all the time. That is all I hear everyone talking about. Before I didn't notice because I was doing it too, but now, it bothers me!!

Good job Deanna....

I understand about the food, and being around it. I have a huge huge weakness for chicken(fried) oh my it is heaven....and I have a hard time at lunch going to the cafe with everyone....

Sometime I give in and eat it, but they are having baked on there now, and I love it....

Cool....I am glad you like your shorts.

We need to get looking for me a bike..but money is not looking positve in my favor yet...so we will see.

Hope it quits raining for ya!!!

D when you make long posts type them up first in microsoft word (or whatever you have) and then copy and paste the message. Then if you lose it you can just copy and paste it again until it goes through.

I have a confession to make.....I have not been on my bike in 2.5 weeks. First it was due to rain and then vacation. Needless to say my 8 miles I did this morning were a bit of a pain in the ass. I am not happy about that nor are my girlie parts. I will do a long ass ride tomorrow even if I die in the middle of it.

HP I feel you on the money thing. Unless I hit the lotto tonight ($325 million) I will not be getting a new bike anytime soon. So it is just me and the Old Dirty Bastard (ODB). That is my bikes new name, y'all like it? Needless to say if I do win tonight we will all be getting new bikes. I have to put that kind of cash to a good cause you know.

BG, can you put my part of the money to work somewhere else, like in my scrub fund. LOL, I am not too fond of these things yet, and I have yet to wear them....everyone says they are way comfy after they are washed. We shall see.

BG, you know brining up your girlies part gets the guys all excited. You really should stop.

HP, I will respond to that last comment in the Woodshed.

B, way to go on the 30 minutes! That's no small (feet) feat!

D, I feel ya on the food I am so nervous about next week that I have an apetite..... well I could eat a bunch!

HP I hope that truck gets better soon. Hey was that pic your idea of (FRIED) chicken? Just askin.

J, you must be amping up for this weekend's ride.

BG, are sure your not an IT person? Like the new name for the bike!

Lotto comment is a good intro to a question: If you had unlimited resources to purchase one bike, which one would you choose.

Since my EX claims that when it comes to life, all I am concerned about is myself ("It's all about you isn't it?") Most often heard question in the OLD Grove household. I am gonna tell all.

Work had me down for the count. Then a break through approx. 30-45 mins ago! Task completed just in time for the weekend! Then forecaster says RAIN!!! I however have something that sets me apart from the rest of the world. Brahma Bull DNA in my genetic makeup. I even have the little hump on the back of my neck to prove it. What the heck does this mean you ask, I will tell you. I am going to do some long ass rides yes rides this weekend. I will test out my hammock tent and even post an update from inside it hanging from a tree. I am not going to let the weather, the loss of my truck or anything stop me.

One of the driving forces is that I ate like a sloppy old pig today I BENT to my hunger in a way I haven't since being banded. This may be my new reality after surgery and it is blowing me apart mentally.

JC (One freaked out Dude)

Gang,

I've been in a meeting all day, well that and shopping....:)

JC-

Not to get personal, but have you done the therapy thing? Psycho therapy, I mean. And not how to become psycho but to work on why you ate/eat the way you did/do with out the band? It's just an avenue to explore if, I'm scared to type it, you can't keep your band...But here's to hoping that is not the case...

My point is to look for the triggers and the whys and all the icky stuff that's better covered up with a nice smear of icing or cream cheese....

The rest of you all...I'll catch you soon........

Okay the rest of yous...

A friend stopped by for a minutes. We are going to go to a movie in an hour....

Anyway, D-I hear scubs are good when the get worn a bit. You'll be good to go soon. Please share with us when you figure out to deal with people and thier food in our personal space. I find myself trying to not stare at people when the are popping M&Ms in their mouths during class. I've learned to walk away from cake when it's being served and offerend...but damn....there's this woman (skinny bitch) who eats during the entire 3 hour class...she hits the vending machines at every brake. I've never seen anyone spend so much time worrying a freaking Twizzler. Alas, what are we going to do?!

BG-I'm buying a ticket too, so if I win I'll pick you up a new bike, okay? It's only fair.

HP-Howdy. The weather is beautiful isn't it?

B- :)

J

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
