I went and watch our bicycle club in town do some time trial tonight....WAY FREAKIN AWESOME SHIT!!!!! They were going soooo fast and someone wrecked and it was awesome...there were only two women though. And it was a small small group of people, but it was great to see it anyways!!

Wrecking is not awesome. Especially if you land on plywood. And bend your rim. And have to do the walk of shame home with your bike. No I am not still bitter or anything.....

BG you crack me up - no, no bitterness! :D

And THANKS guys for keeping my spirits up. As you can see, I, uh, still have a little self esteem issue... :)

BUT, that said, I just got back from a 10.5 mile ride. YAY! I was amazed at how good it felt - I hadn't ridden in a week, between being out of town and the HOT weather (yes, I'm a wimp and I do need to get over it!). I feel ALIVE.

You guys rock!

I did it! I freaking did it! I not only did it, I slapped an exclamation point on the end of it!!!!!!!!!!

3 non-stop jogging miles, finished with a 40 yard, full-on, snot blowing sprint. I honestly believe I can run faster now than when I was 18 years old back when the guys used to say I was the biggest fastest white boy they have ever seen run.

I was going so fast that I actually ran out into the street before I could get myself stopped!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry if it seems like I am bragging but this is what I have been striving for, for a very long time. Fire I tell you I am on dad-gum FIRE!!!

JC and everyone else on this board-------

Do not ever, ever, ever apologize for talking about an accomplishment!

Not here. We need a place to come to where we can say, I kicked some ass today! Brag on your bad selves, because who else will? And we all want to hear it!

JC, dude-you are intense and fantastic. It's so cool to see your success!

By the way, you need to talk again about the BikeE...I think now I know what it is. It's one of those funky upright ski with wheels things, right?

Send us a link or a picture again.

I biked with the group last night. My average speed was new all time high of 14 mph, I did 23 miles. The group dynamic is awesome. My gams are looking good!

BG, LOL, I wasn't saying the wreck was awesome!!! LOL! You are such a hoot!!!No wonder the ladies you work with are so jealous of you, you are getting skinny, sexier and are freakin hilarious to boot!!!

Annie, I can understand the self esteem issue. I just wonder if it will EVER be good again, you know what I mean? After being fat for so long, I just wonder how long it will take for the mind to catch up that we are NOT the fat one anymore and can accomplish anything!! I sure hope that it doesn't take long!! You are so amazing, I look at your weight loss and KNOW that I can do it too!!!!

JC, seriously, that is the best thing that you could of said today!!! I am sooooooo proud of you!!!! You could tell you wanted it by the way you talked about it so much! You wanted it, you went out and worked on it, and now you did it!!! What an accomplishment!!!!! What a way to rock it!!! YOU are awesome!!

Juli, Once again you are so totally right!! Never should we apologize to each other for an accomplishment that we have. We all here are the support group for each other and we NEED to be able to come here and scream I DID IT!!! Not a whole lot of other people will understand the intensity and meaning of what something like that does for us!!! I love it that you found this group of women that keeps you going and motivated and enjoying yourself, Juli. That must be awesome to all be loving the same sport and working out together!!! Your average speed is great too!!! I can't wait!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
