WAY TO GO!!!!!!!!!

I don't know, puppies are pretty damn cute. Especially Pomeranians.

Babygirl

Let me know how the Oprah thing pans out...I'll be part of the group. Cycling Bandsters Who Lose All Their Excess Weight.

Thanks for the props. I feel like a slug today because I've not done anything. I can only ride Thursday and Saturday this week, but I'm shooting for 30 on both rides. WOO HOO.

And BG, I forgot to mention, I just bought icy blue sunglasses on line. Two different pair to go with the rest of the blue I'm sporting.

I'll have to get a picture.

Oh, and I'll be hitting the gym on the none bike days so I'm not a complete slug.....;)

Juli, ok, you talked me into it....I am changing it...Certified Biker Bitch!!!!

BG, crap that sounds crappy to have to change times of work like that!!!I would ride in the heat of the day too!!! Much safer than when it is dark outside!! You could get a head light and flashing ass light. Juli has a flashing ass light!!!!

Hoosier!!! Way to go!! A new bike! You will definitely love it way more and be more comfortable on it too, which equals more time on the bike.

Juli, 30 miles at a time???? Damn, my ass is so sore after 20, I don't know what I would do after 30, YOU GO GIRL!!!!!

This is the best support group for exercise ever!!! And I think we should approach Oprah about doing that show BabyGrl.....You call her up and ask her, me and Juli will show up!!!! K...ride safe all!!!

I am not really sure if I am ready to draw attention to my ass yet with a flashing light.

Changing times at work really is not that bad. I don't have to come in later on my stock month, I chose to so I could ride. But the first week back at 5 am did suck after coming in at 8a. 5am sucks a whole lot more in the summertime when it doesn't get dark until after 10p. I need 8 hours of sleep to function properly and I don't want to waste my day napping. So I have been popping some Lipo6x for the energy.

Juli at least you are going to the gym on your non bike days. I am definitely going to get a gym membership when winter comes around.

I am going camping in a few weeks and I must say I am a bit freaked out. I know I will get my exercise in but my eating is going to be difficult to keep in check. I have purposely begun to buy Snacks for the kids and DH that I don't like or can't eat (Twinkies and BBQ chips lol). My eating has always been "the problem". That was why I started working out, so I did not have to be one of those 800 calorie people. I am just freaked out about not having a scale for 2 weeks, and no support from you guys for two weeks. I might have to find a library around there with a computer lol. I ma excited for the biking though. There is a bike trail at one of the state parks where I am going that is supposed to be awesome. I think it is like 30 miles or so and it should be fun. DH will be able to come with me since my parents are also going and will be able to watch the kids.

Well I have my bike in the car to ride after work. If all goes well weather wise I should have my workout done before I get home from work.

BG-

The light on my ass, as it was so delicately put, is so cars see me at dusk and not hit me.

Funny, I ride in biker shorts and I'm at 244 pounds. No small thing.

When we did our ride on Sunday I was passing people here and there, those stopped at the side of the road. My GF who was behind me said the people would actually stare a bit. Of course I was the biggest person cycling, well I saw one other good sized chica, but I don't care. Look at me. Look at me pass your skinny ass. Woo Hoo.

Okay, and for support, really do you want a phone number? You can keep track of your food with pen and paper. Take a little notebook. Just be sensible about how you eat. You'll be burning mega calories, hauling stuff and just being outside. Watch how you drink, alcohol has huge calories so don't indulge too much...I can't think of anything else. But really, I'm serious if you want a phone number I'll give you mine so to be able to encourage/support ya.

Juli, sorry about the light on your ass comment....I actually am getting one myself....and I will proudly sing, "This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine", the whole time I am biking!!!

BG, that sounds like such a great time. Two weeks camping....I am so jealous and a great trail to ride on too!!! What more could you ask for, other than an ass light!!!!!

Juli, so what did the people were staring part mean? Like they were staring like....WOW, what a hot biker chick that is? or staring like....WOW, that person it riding fast? or what? I often wonder what people think of me riding down the road. I have got some hoots and hollers, not sure if they are bad or good ones though!!!!!!

Hoosier

20 miles six weeks from now should be doable. Setting goals like that is a fantastic way to grow yourself. DO IT!

Deanna-

Don't apologize, there's no need! I don't know what the people were thinking...somehow I don't think it's look at that hot chick...but I don't put much into what strangers think about me.

Let's talk about goals...The GF, who's named Alison, BTW and I set some goals this weekend for our riding.

We are going to shoot for:

40 miles July 21

50 miles Aug 11

62 miles Sept 30

I think it's a bit much but she's all about stretching and improving and I can't really find a good argument, other than I don't wanna...so I do it.

Hence shooting for a consistent 30 miles this week.

I'll keep you posted.

Juli, I know you have a sense of humor so I wasn't too worried about the joke, but ya never know...ya know??? So, are there goals for a week?? Like 40 miles a week, at one time? Then move on to working up to 50 miles at a time? THat is sooo cool!!!

And I bet it was the "look at that hot chick"!!!!! You are hot, we are all hot!!!.....and sweaty!!! LOL.....rock on girls, and guys!!

I knew what the light was for lol. I was just being a smart ass. But hey if I am a smart ass then I need the light to be my thinking light bulb right? Yeah, yeah bad joke lol.

The drinking I am not too worried about. Since I have been working out it seems wasteful to me to drink. I don't want those calories when I have been working so hard to burn them. Plus I don't want to feel like shit in the morning. It is the eating that scares me. When i camp, I snack. ALL. THE. TIME. So I just need to find a way to not do that. Maybe I will take 1000 pictures for you guys and that will keep me busy! Here is the pack we will be staying at ParkList

Pentwater really is my favorite place in the world. I love camping there.

Here is the link for the Bike trail park which is right near it ParkList

Hoosier you can definitely do that. My first bike ride was like May21st and I could barely make it one mile. I thought I was going to die. I can do 20 now.

Those goals are definitely doable Juli. You are lucky to have a girlfriend that wants to work out with you and pushes you!

GO BG!!!!! That is so great!! Glad you got your ride in and I agree, it does make you feel a ton better!!!! Sweat out all the pissiness....thats what I was doing the other night when I was mad at DH for sitting on porch watching me mow the lawn I got it done like in a half an hour I was walking so fast pushing that mower!!!!! It usually takes and hour, so I felt a whole lot better when it was all said and done!!!! AND I didn't even yell!!! Also, I used to snack all the time when I camped too, but this year is different. I haven't snacked. I drank lots of Crystal Light...Keep postive... you can do it....I wanna see a loss when you get back from vaca...and I MEAN IT!!!! LOL...

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
