Seeing you at the casino was a blast. Can't wait to see you next time, perhaps at TOSRV and me without my belly!

Was a nice weekend in the NE. Got the bike ready for spring bike rides. Can not wait for all the snow and wet weather to be gone, and warm up.

I made 200 pounds gone club this weekend!

I got my bike outside just to practice clipping and unclipping my bike shoes.

Was not as scary as id thought. TOo cold for mileage and way to much salt on the roads.

WYD-

Rock on for the -200!!!!!!!!!

That's amazing!

Yeah, talk to me after you fall over. It will happen at least once. I promise you. If you are a complete clutz like me it will happen more often.

I'm hoping to get out on the road this weekend. Woot.

Hehe. Trying not to laugh because I know you have a complex. But really you got some awful advice on those egg beaters.

Clipless pedals scare me.

Yeah, I tried a different style and they just didn't work for me. The egg beaters were a struggle. Then I got paranoid. I'm still paranoid so I use a hybrid pedal with a flat side and a clipable side.

Let me add that I also had a junky shoe that got stuck on my pedal. I had to take my foot out of the shoe and work with a screw driver to remove the shoe from the pedal.

No, I'm not paranoid for no good reason. I have reasons.

I'm working on it though.

Hi J!

I feel so bad for you with the pedals! I agree with BG that you got some bad advice and unfortunately it has given you reason to fear them. I hope you will find your way to a different pedal that will be simple for you to use. I love mine...but they are easy. I wouldn't use them either unless they were. My shoe got stuck once too (with a different kind of pedal than I'm using now!)...takes some tweaking on short rides before you really let loose!

Let me know if and when you may be ready to try again, and I will be happy to hook you with some professional advice and maybe a trial from my LBS friend!

P.S. Hi everyone!!!

Get the clipless and the aero bars! Oh, and you WILL fall, usually when you stop or get sluggish on a hill. It's more embarassing than painful.

Falling can be painful. For your ego, and well your shoulder and hip too.

Oh, aero bars. I tried to put them on my bike last year, and they don't fit. I have sissy breaks and a woman specific designed bike, so my bars are narrow...I heart my sissy breaks, so no aeros for me.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
