One month post op weight gain?

Recommended Posts

Ok ladies and gemtlmen. I have a serious question. I am concerned because on 12-4 i weighed in at 288 this was my one month. That was 25lbs in 30 days. I am so excited. I am following the rules and having issues with nausea yet I'm still working through and staying positive. I checked my weight yesterday and it shows an 8lb gain? Could this be accurate? I'm puzzled. I'm interested to know if anyone else experienced such torture lol. In remaining positive and keep telling myself it's Water.< /p>

Yep.....totally normal. Hormones...water.....they are evil buggers! I am almost 4 mths out and I have "gained" weight 3 times. 5lbs was the most. But I follow the diet guidelines to a T so I know its just my body shifting around. As soon as I notice a gain I stay off the scale for a full week. It goes away. The first gain I mentioned it to my doctor and they assured me it was just normal body fluctuations and advised I stay off the scales. I am down 57lbs in 4 mths so its working and it will work for you to! Hang in there!

Totally normal. I'm 2.5 weeks out and 37 lbs down and this morning I got on the scale and was up 4 lbs. we are literally eating tablespoons of food. Unless you are eating straight lard or butter, I don't think it is scientifically possible for us to gain that much weight overnight (or even in a few days, lol). Don't fret! I'm just going to stay off the scale for a few days and be sure I'm getting all my Water in. Bodies are weird!!! Good luck ❤️

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
