Mmm, chicken

Recommended Posts

Made some chicken and pureed it tonight. It's hard to get down so I could only eat about a tablespoon of it, but this is my first try with chicken. Anyway, it tasted good so I thought I'd share. Sorry about the lack of actual measurements, I usually wing it in the kitchen.

2 chicken breasts (boneless/skinless) in a baking dish

Salt and pepper to taste

Garlic and onion powder to taste

Cover with dried cilantro (I just sprinkled until there was a lot of green on the chicken)

Add juice from 2 limes

I didn't add additional Water, but wish I would've added a little more to make more juice for blending. Probably 1/4 cup would have been good

Cover tightly with foil and bake at 350 for about 40 minutes, give or take. My oven may be off.

Good not blended, but not bad blended either!

The best meal I ever had on the puréed stage was a puréed medium rare restaurant filet. I brought it home and added a little au jus and blended it till the consistency of pate. I got a 3 meals out of it and a year later and at goal I still think about how yummy it was. Good luck on your journey.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
