Monday marks 4 weeks post-op for me. I have only lost 10 pounds. I am struggling to not focus on the number of the scale, but it is really hard. I want progress so badly. I get my first fill on Tuesday so that gives me something to look forward to. I guess I keep feeling like I am having good days and bad days. Since I have been on solid foods I haven't lost anything, even if I do not eat very much. The only NSV I have had is fitting in to a pair of jeans that I couldn't wear a month ago. But that doesn't feel like a victory because that pair is the same size as most of my clothes - it is just that I had to buy one pair a size up since nothing was fitting quite right. The new ones feel huge, my 'old' ones feel normal. Ugh. so frustrating.

When does the pace pick up a little?? Even just one pound a week would feel like progress.

My advice....... QUIT WEIGHING every day or even every week. After 53 years, I finally learned to let go of that scale. Just live the banded life and hop on the scale every three to four weeks. You will see a loss. Look at your topic title........ "Slow PROGRESS...... I have only lost TEN POUNDS." I'd take TEN POUNDS in FOUR WEEKS....... I'd be happy with TEN POUNDS in FOUR WEEKS. Some weigh-ins, I lost FOUR POUNDS in TEN WEEKS...... But, the way I saw it..... I was making PROGRESS. You will too. You will too. You will too !!!!!!!!!!! It's only been four weeks, Keeper.

I am 4 months out from surgery and have lost 20 lbs. I felt really badly about this until I started looking at it a different way. That's a little over a pound a week loss! So even if I'm on the slow side, I'm on the right track! And since I'm getting closer to the green zone and exercising, the weight is coming off a lot faster. Hang in there!!!! ????

I can definitely see a difference in the scale between weeks where I get in at least 3 days at the gym and weeks where I only get there 1 day. If you can even get those 30 minutes of walking in every day, you'll see and feel the difference. Keep up the great work!!!

That is great progression! Dont get down about it. Remember, you didnt gain that weight over night and you wont lose it over night (:

My surgeon told me the first 6 weeks you should focus more on healing than losing and sometimes you might gain a little weight before your 1st fill.

BTW Ryders by Lee are wonderful, they have a stretchy quality to them and they are the 1st pair of jeans I've bought in a long time.

Ten pounds the first month is fantastic! Keep following the protocol and you will see steady and consistent weight loss. I promise! Stop weighing daily. It's going to drive you crazy.

You guys are great - thank you so much for the words of encouragement. I did weigh this morning, but it's because I am having my first fill done today and wanted to know how my scale compares to theirs. After that, it is going UP! I walk 3 days out of the week to pick my kids up from school but that is only about 20 minutes. But. I just bought an elliptical, something I never would have done for myself before. So I'm feeling pretty good!

You should really see some calorie burn now. You'll find that not weighing everyday is very liberating. And the reward when you get on the scale only at the doctor's office is that it is usually a large chunk of weight.

I felt just like you last month. I just hit my green zone this week after my third fill. I'm not hungry AT ALL. The weight is finally coming off. Even if I didn't lose another pound, it's AMAZING to finally not be hungry all the time. Hang in there. You'll hit the zone.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
