joatsaint 2,814 Posted December 6, 2014 I've only thrown up one time, in the hospital, the morning after surgery - I drank a little too much Water. It hurt like hell, but it didn't do any damage. And right before I left the hospital, I got a case of the hiccups that lasted several minutes - I didn't think they were ever going to stop. Again, it hurt like hell and it felt like my staple line got stretched, but no damage.
roundisashape 712 Posted December 6, 2014 Think your surgeon might give you a pre-emptive prescription for Zofran or something, just in case? You've got to be living in terror at the moment - I know I'm scared of throwing up this early!
WL WARRIOR 692 Posted December 6, 2014 You can start taking Tamiflu within the first 24 hours. You will feel back to normal within 24 hours after taking it. You have to go to a doctor or urgent care clinic to get it, however. Once you start noticing symptoms of the flu (fever, body aches, headache, or vomiting) head for the doctor to get some. Just tell the doctor that you have been exposed to the flu and are beginning to have symptoms. There are also some all-natural over the counter medicine that shortens the flu. I'm not sure how well they work, however. As a teacher, I try to take Emergen-C everyday to help prevent getting a cold or the flu.
