I find it very hard to control my eating when I make a meal that's supposed to last for a few days. Anyone else? How do you cope?

The best thing to do is after you make it but before you sit down to eat, put together your plate for the next meal but put it in the fridge right away (or freezer if you don't want it right away). THat way, it's out of the way and more difficult to eat. I'm surprised that I haven't had this problem yet. Partially because I"m very frugal so to stretch out the meal into many meals is kind of exciting for me because I'm saving money in the process. And I hate cooking so now I have another meal or more that I only have to heat up. But put it away right away.

Generally I use volume control. I eat homemade high Protein Soups and chili. I have measuring cups. Currently at 19 months post op on RNY I use one cup per meal.

I also use measuring cups and a food scale. I've gotten pretty good at eyeballing, but I check with actual measurements to make sure I'm on track. My guesses are surprisingly accurate, but I'll bet if I wasn't checking, I would allow myself to be more generous.

In order to save the most money and waste the least food, you should buy plastic food containers with lids. You can then portion out and refrigerate/freeze your future meals. We have a million of these and except for the always missing lids, they are very useful.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
