popcorn is on my "not easily tolerated" list.

Depends on your doc. I'm ok with it now, 2 months and a couple of weeks since surgery. There's also Pirates Booty at Trader Joes and Target - puffed corn, no kernels. I'm finding my intolerance for scrambled eggs is starting up with hard boiled as well. Bummer!

So Is it a no no because it's usualy not tolerated?

Also I've had no issues with much so hopefully I'll be okay! Haha

I didn't eat any for at least 6 months, only because I was sticking to an 800 calorie diet and didn't want to eat any empty calories. I think I was allowed popcorn after 30 days, my biggest concern was the hard slivers getting stuck in my staple line.

Yeah that's why I didn't want to eat it because of the staple part but shouldn't it be. Loss by now like not many staples would be not as exposed if that makes sense

I was told no seeds or nuts for 3 months. this included popcorn because of the kernel part. And it was because of the healing staple line/potential leak thing, not because of the calorie/intolerance thing.

I've had popcorn many times after 3 months. Smart food cheese popcorn is my fav.

Hmmm...what did your surgeon or Nutritionist say when you asked them if you should be eating popcorn? They would be the first two people I would ask, not the BP forums. No offense forum folks.

No offense takin! I have another appointment monday so it's not like I'm going to eat it right now. I like to see what everyone had to say on the subject because I know people who do the stages on their own pace. So idk. Every doctor is different. I have a list of questions to ask already lol!

Roasted chickpeas would be better! And you can season them however you please. There are recipes online.

I tried. But it's not the same.

popcorn, I'd wait till 4 months postoperative. Due to the stable line etc. try a few kernels at 4 months and see how you react. I tried that popcorn stuff from a tin last week... Yuck, can't believe I loved it at one time. PS: avoid the Carmel corn tho, too much sugar. Someone mentioned eggs: 7 months out, I still can't do eggs, only can do hard boiled.

I just recently came across a low carb popcorn substitute... Unsweetened coconut slivers. Google coconut popcorn and you should find a recipe. I've never actually tried it and have to admit I'm not sure how close it can really be, but there were a lot of rave reviews about it :)

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
