LipstickLady 25,682 Posted December 6, 2014 Oh! I forgot about True Lemon crystals. They make lime and orange, too. They taste great, add a bit of flavor and no artificial sweeteners.
Cody's mom 247 Posted December 6, 2014 @@LipstickLady, where do you get these crystals, I have a hard time with Water still and can not do artificial sweetners. I can't do crystal light, or dasani or any of those.
LipstickLady 25,682 Posted December 6, 2014 They are in the produce section of some markers, in the powdered drink aisle if others. They are crystallized fruit, no other ingredients. Be careful not to buy True Lemon lemonade. It's food, but not the same. Google it!
JCP 619 Posted December 9, 2014 I used to gulp Water now it makes me nauseous too. Decaf tea works better, and decaf coffee, gatorade, and crystal light. I don't get why that is either.
Elode 8,093 Posted December 15, 2014 Water is the hardest : (
Forsythia 882 Posted December 15, 2014 Immediately post sleeve I could only handle my Water lukewarm. Before it had to be ice cold. I tolerate cold water just fine now. With or without flavoring. But generally I add flavoring to it. My dollar store sells boxes of sugar free Hawaiian Punch to go packets. I'm all about that.
freshair 135 Posted December 15, 2014 I always seem to do better mixing something in my Water, even before surgery. Right now I'm on a pineapple & coconut Dasani kick. Hey please filk me in on the pineapple and coconut dasani sounds yummy btw water alone also does set kinda heavy in my stomach diluted juice goes down better but getting alot of acid from the Apple juice
hillgirly 228 Posted December 15, 2014 @@freshair it's a Water flavoring - it's with Mio and other brands in the store. I rotate between that and Mio 'sweet tea' at the moment. I don't care for apple juice (never have) only drank some diluted during my pre-ops liquids and barely got it down then
notnow4321 0 Posted December 15, 2014 why does sipping Water makeme sick. i also tried sipping regular ice tea with sugar and this went down easier. please let me know your experiences. thank you. also, bringing up thick phlem. Try SmartWater it has electrolyte that prevents dehydration and is easier to swallow than other bottled or tap Water
athena3127 199 Posted December 16, 2014 I am so glad I came across your post! I'm 6 almost 7 wks post op and I am with you on having issues with plain Water. I can do sf Decaf tea , g2, juice, anything but plain water and I'm fine. If it's simple h2o I'll have such an issue with nausea and just about every yucky feeling that it stresses me out trying to get down even a shot glass. However I do try a sip or two daily because I miss drinking water.
brians34 31 Posted December 16, 2014 I have a problem getting in Water requirement without flavoring. I use the Walmart Great Value packets. You get 10 packets for like a buck. Without the flavoring added, Water sits hard on my stomach and I used to drink water all the time presurgery.
jess9395 5,449 Posted December 16, 2014 Another thought... Have you tried bottled Water? We have wonderful tap Water at our house, from a well and all, but it's too heavy for my stomach. Bottled water I do fine with. Just a thought!
