not yet I am having it done on July 19, 2007. My surgeon has set up a forum so his patients to use and I have been going into it daily to see what experiences and solutions other people have had and found to help them on there way. you may want to check it:

Thanks! I think the Gax-X is helping. Seeing what others are doing is a big help. I'm getting so much information in here!

Hi Everyone! After I had surgery in Dec of 2005 I had shoulder pain in my left shoulder. My doctor gave me a cortisone shot after having it for over a month and that took care of the pain. However, I was having problems with my legs from Aug-Dec of 2006 and had to pull myself up the stairs at work with my arms. I developed severe bursitus in my right shoulder which I still have! Lately, I have been having slight burning sensation on my right side where the band is. I thought maybe that is gas and use gas-x however, it goes away for a little bit but still comes back. I am having a D&C on June 25th and will be seeing my doctor on June 20th for an unfill. Do you think I should see him sooner? Not sure what to do. Thanks for listening!;)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
